I’m curious to know why the sun doesn’t appear to have a tail. To traverse FE in 24 hrs wouldn’t it appear to moving faster toward the center and slower at the outermost extremity?

Because it is a sun ... not a comet. It isn't made of ice that melts to form a tail.
