Title: Texas family begging for food... in New York!
Post by: Lord Dave on April 26, 2014, 11:34:54 PM
I came across a rather odd family today.
I went to the grocery store here in New York (not the city) and outside was a man and his family (two children I think) with a sign that says "lost my job.  We need food.  God bless"
Ok, I figured, just a begger.  But why not get unemployment?  Why not get food stamps?
I walked past quickly as the store manager asked them politely to leave, which they did.

As I approached my car, I could hear them behind me speaking in Spanish.  The children specifically.  Then I saw the car they went into: A van with Texas plates.

Is this a new epidemic?  Is Texas so bad that losing your job requires you to drive all the way to New York just to beg for food?  Or is Texas simply dumping their poor on us New Yorkers and claiming it as "solving the poor problem"?

I'd hardly think of New York if I was looking to suckle on the milk of human kindness.

Could it be they jumped the border and picked up a vehicle on the way to New York in Texas? New York having more prospects of work and all?

This sounds like the mostly likely scenario. Illegals who can't find work, thinking New York would be the best place to fall into the "American dream". Maybe borrowed a friend's car from Texas?

And cash as the gas alone would range in the hundreds to get here.

It just seems odd that they'd drive all the way to New York.  Especially where I live, which is 50 miles north of the City.

Unless Texas is deporting people to New York, I seriously doubt this is a possible scenario.

Maybe, just maybe, the guy had been living and working in New York, and just happened to originally be from Texas?

Then why didn't he change his vehicle plates to New York plates within 30 days as is required by New York state law?

Because he is an illegal alien.

I've been in Arizona for over three years and I still have an Alabama license plate.

Please don't tell me you're still registering in Alabama and they're letting you...

please lrn2read he was speaking Spanish. SPANISH. Ask yourself, would you be speaking Spanish if you used to have a job? People only speak Spanish when they want to take advantage of weak corrupt liberal socialist communist welfare systems in other countries.
