The Flat Earth Society

If you didn't already know, we have a subreddit (www.reddit.com/r/flatearthsociety). Parsifal recently mentioned it in another thread and I have admittedly not been very good about informing people about it.
Reddit is a forum that has visibility based on votes rather than time posted. While this doesn't matter much for small subreddits, this can be demotivating to post there because often the RE'ers that arrive to the subreddit will begin blanket downvoting all FE'er responses. Reddit upvotes/downvotes are not intended to be agree/disagree buttons and I would urge our members not to treat them as such.
Please post your username here or PM me if you are a Reddit regular or have experience coding Reddit sites so that I can give you moderator status. I am the only moderator there and could use extra eyes on the subreddit. This offer is open to all old site regulars, regardless of FE or RE standing.
In addition to all of this, I would like to note that Reddit advertising is an option available to us. I can even target specific subreddits or interest groups. I could, for example, target the conspiracy subreddits or the geology subreddits. This could potentially drive enormous amounts of people to the subreddit and this site. Comments on whether this would be a good idea or not would be appreciated.

I'll mod it. I can't wait until I get to issue my first ban.

Subreddit moderators don't have the ability to ban people.
Well, traditionally I mean. You can can them from the subreddit.
-
I also get that sexy green flair. I suppose I'll have to learn some CSS now.
-
You were not kidding, it is super dead.
I think advertising on conspiracy subs is a great idea. Maybe fringe discussions and skeptic subs as well. Possibly science? But we may just get a lot of really angry round earthers with that one.
-
I registered an account (pizaaplanetFES), could you mod me?
I think advertising is a good idea, but I think we should try and make the subreddit look a bit more appealing first.

Yes, indeed. I wish I knew how to do that because it desperately needs it.
-
I'm the one who did the style. >:(
Okay, I admit. The whole thing looks like garbage. Except the flairs. I think I did okay on the flairs.
Pizaa I won't be able to mod you until I get off work. That'll be about 10 hours or so.

I invited him in your absence.

Hm, I should have restricted everyone's access so I could rule with an iron fist.
-
I'll play around with it. Then again, with Blanko being our supreme design overlord, it may be a good idea to ask him.
-
I'm sure he'll be happy to help since reddit is is #1 favorite website.
-
I worked on it for literally 5 minutes. Replaced the huge banner with something more similar to the reddit logo and adjusted the colour scheme of the header a little bit.
If we don't get anyone else to do it, I should be able to design something proper in a week or so.
-
I'll take a look at it at some point.
-
Also, we should probably change the sidebar. It appears to contain the rules of Daniel's forum, together with mentions how S&C should be used. Reddit doesn't have S&C, how wacky!
-
I'll modify it. I copied and pasted it from the old site rules, but I thought I had removed most of the nonsensical items. I think I ended up leaving the S&C reference in because I imagined this site as an overseer for the subreddit, despite never properly keeping the two in touch with each other.
The new theme already looks a whole lot better. I think it might be good to get rid of a lot of those garbage threads inside the subreddit, though, and add some Repository links for newer discussion material.

Being the head mod, you have power over everyone. I'm #2 so I'm next. It's a retarded system.
-
So are we ready to start advertising or are we still waiting on Rushy to modify some things?

We'd need some sort of template and blanko would probably be best at making the ad. Reddit ads cost money per 1000 clicks, so it might get pretty expensive (I expect that 90% of those clicks will be bots).
-
Is it per 1000 clicks or per 1000 impressions? I had a very brief look at reddit ads when you first mentioned them and I recall them being billed per 1000 views.

I thought impressions was a fancy word for clicks, honestly. I didn't know it was per 1000 times the server hands it to a viewer. That's even worse, money wise.
