I'm not particularly strong in math, and I've often heard an argument used in the forums regarding measurements.  Typically, it's that you can't use a round earth measurement system to measure a flat earth.

My question is this:  If a spherical measurement system can't be used to measure a flat earth, then how does it manage to work accurately with a globe earth model?  Let's forget about flat or round earth, and just think about it in terms of simple objects, such as balls and frisbees.  Can I use a spherical measurement system to accurately map out a frisbee?

I wanted to get a clearer picture of how a projection of the sun could make it appear in a different place in the sky (such as the summer solstice in Antarctica), so I put together a simple scale drawing of the flat earth according to the wiki.  The position of the sun may be inaccurate because I didn't see on the wiki how far out from the north pole the sun orbits.  If there's an official answer, please let me know.  If it changes depending on the seasons, then the equinox will do.

If I can see the stars at and above the horizon at night, why is the sun not visible when it's on the daylight side of the plane.  If there is significant atmoplane along the horizon, which is used as an excuse for night, the sun disappearing, the sun dropping below the horizon, and all sorts of other stuff.

The stars are crystal clear, and with long exposure photography you can see so much more in the night sky with no loss of detail along the horizon.  If these are all celestial objects that are at or beyond the distance of the sun, then why can we not see the sun, which from the point of the observer appears so much larger than the stars.

On a FE, this makes no sense.  Why is the atmoplane selective of what it lets you see?  What makes the sun special that it gets obscured at night, but not stars?

In 4 hours, the blood moon eclipse will reach totality in NA, SA, Greenland, Iceland, and the UK.  If you're in one of these locations, let's try to take photos if we have a clear sky above us.

It will begin around 11:41 p.m. ET on Jan. 20 and peak around 12:16 a.m. ET on Jan. 21.

##### Flat Earth Theory / 2019 Total Lunar Eclipse

NASA and other RE proponents are expecting a red total lunar eclipse on January 20, beginning at 11:41ET and lasting for just over an hour.  This is some precise prediction.  From the FE perspective, do you believe it's possible to make such a prediction with this accuracy when the cause of such an event is a mysterious black sun?  If it's not the black sun or other mysterious object, please correct me.

According to https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/lunar/2019-january-21, at the moment of the peak of the eclipse, the entire blood moon will be visible at the same moment from all of North America, South America, some western countries in Africa, Ireland, Norway, and parts of Russia.

How is this possible on a flat earth for all of these places to observe this event at the same time in its entirety?

If the earth is indeed flat, and there are no satellites in space, does anyone here think it could be possible that a project such as SHARP (Stationary High Altitude Relay Platform) could have been refined to a point where it can maintain sustained flight without ever needing to refuel?

They're ultralight unmanned aircraft for the purpose of being a communication relay that are powered by microwaves directed at them from the ground.  They would typically fly in a small radius to stay within the microwave transmitter's field.  Since SHARP there have been many advances in similar high altitude aircraft.

To me, this would seem the most logical and cost-effective approach to transmitting signals across the earth, especially if people have dishes pointed up at a specific place in the sky.

December 22, 2018 will be the summer solstice in Antarctica where there will be a couples of weeks of 24-hour sunlight illuminating the entire continent.  How is this supposed to work on a flat earth?

Claims that this video is faked should be accompanied by evidence to support such claims.

##### Flat Earth Theory / CMEs and Sun's Distance from earth

I've briefly searched threads for an answer on this, but couldn't find anything.

CMEs, or coronal mass ejections (different from solar flares) happen all the time.  When Earth-directed CMEs occur they are recorded and affect the Earth around 3 days later (varies, but has never been less than a day).  If the sun is only a few thousand miles from the earth's surface would that mean that the CME is traveling at less than 50mph?  Or substantially slower since the northern lights are up in the sky.

Furthermore, if the sun is within earth's atmosphere that means that every visibly recorded CME must be directed at some part of the Earth.  If this is the case, why do we not see northern lights for those other CMEs?

Why the 3 day delay if the sun is so close?

Is there a FE scientific definition of a CME that differs from the current definition?  Didn't see anything on the wiki.
