I'm a bit confused.

If the earth really is flat, wouldn't you be able to see the sun at all times? Since it is flat, the sun would always be "over" the earth. If this is true, how could the sun possibly set in the horizon? The earth can't be flat if the sun is setting behind the horizon.

I really want to see the reasoning behind how this works, since the wiki article didn't explain it.
