Flat Earth Theory / Re: What causes high/low tide in a FET
« on: February 21, 2017, 07:58:48 PM »
Interestingly enough, the moons gravity has no effect whatsoever when it comes to extremely large lakes.

http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/gltides.html

"True tides—changes in water level caused by the gravitational forces of the sun and moon—do occur in a semi-diurnal (twice daily) pattern on the Great Lakes. Studies indicate that the Great Lakes spring tide, the largest tides caused by the combined forces of the sun and moon, is less than five centimeters in height. These minor variations are masked by the greater fluctuations in lake levels produced by wind and barometric pressure changes. Consequently, the Great Lakes are considered to be non-tidal."

Quote
The tides, and currents, both air and water are caused by intense evaporation from the energy of the Sun.

... he stated confidently, without evidence or even a basic understanding of the math to describe such a process.

Here, I'll make it easy for you. Is this the "small beachy area" that you are referring to, yes or no? (circled in blue)

It's pretty common knowledge that NASA is very heavy on the contracting, just like the DoD is. Just look at any job board and search for NASA jobs. Everything you find will be for a third party company.

There's a federal hiring freeze, dummy. And even if there wasn't, I doubt NASA advertises on jobsgalore.com, as auspicious as that site is. I do know that they hire plenty of engineers and scientists (yes, they have their own) through university student internships/co-ops.

These companies are basically throwing their money away for something that is not achievable. Maybe they can get to "space" for a small about of time, but certainly not into earth orbit, as it does not exist.

If only all those thousands of engineers, scientists, and their financial backers were as smart as you!

There are other small beaches in that area that point towards Santa Cruz.

I believe I used a reflecting telescope of about 500x. Everything was upside down.

What else would you like to know?
I think we all, Flat and Round, would like to know: Which of those "other small beaches" were you using?

There is an area nearby with a cement stairwell that leads down to a small beachy area. That whole area at the end of the peninsula is generally referred to as Lover's Point.

That could refer to almost any of the "beachy" areas around there. Could you be specific please?

Also:
2. Do you still stand by this statement: "Even with the unaided naked eye one can see the beaches along the opposite coast."
3. Are you aware that the image linked to in your above statement is not an image of the Santa Cruz beach you were referencing?

My statement is correct. Its a picture of beaches along the opposite coast. I didn't say it was Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz would be at the leftmost tip, which that picture does not show.

Interesting. That entire paragraph you are describing what you can see on the Santa Cruz beach. Why did you suddenly start talking about a completely different beach, in a completely different direction, in the very last sentence of that paragraph, without giving any indication that you were referring to a different beach?

Quote
On a very clear and chilly day it is possible to see Lighthouse Beach from Lovers Point and vice versa. With a good telescope, laying down on the stomach at the edge of the shore on the Lovers Point beach 20 inches above the sea level it is possible to see people at the waters edge on the adjacent beach 33 miles away. I can see children running in and out of the water, splashing and playing. I can see people sun bathing at the shore and teenagers merrily throwing Frisbees to one another. I can see runners jogging along the water's edge with their dogs. From my vantage point the entire beach is visible. Even with the unaided naked eye one can see the beaches along the opposite coast.

Craig Deare, NSC's senior director for Western Hemisphere Affairs, dismissed for criticizing the administration.

"Deare harshly criticized the president and his chief strategist Steve Bannon and railed against the dysfunction paralyzing the Trump White House, according to a source familiar with the situation. He complained in particular that senior national security aides do not have access to the president — and gave a detailed and embarrassing readout of Trump's call with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto."

Whitehouse spokesperson on the situation: "If you don't support the President's agenda then you shouldn't have a job in the White House"

Can't have any non-bootlickers.

But how do we even know if Tom's real name is even Tom or that Tom's, or whoever he really is's, picture is really a picture of a Tom named Tom Bishop? Not to mention, how did he get younger before he died? Have we found the real reptilian?

I think you are missing the point.

If you showed me a picture of some other Tom Bishop 30 years from now, aged exactly as you'd expect a 50 year young stud like our Tom Bishop to age, then I'd think you had a point.

The point is that given any combination of name and face, there is a decent chance of finding a similarly named lookalike (assuming their name isn't too rare and matches their ethnicity). It took me about 30 seconds to find TWO. If you want an example with a 30 year age difference, you would need to start with someone much younger than Tom Bishop, since there just aren't many people in their 80s - 90s.

Unfortunately, lacking proper training or good recognition software, this a subjective. You are just going to keep insisting that any example I provide isn't close enough, while exaggerating the identicalness of the Challenger lookalikes.

48
Hardly identical.

Imagine them with glasses and a derpy frown. Not identical, but about as close as the Challenger lookalikes.

Yes, hardly identical. One guy has blue eyes and straight teeth and the other guy has brown eyes and a gap in his teeth.

Funny that you only bring up the teeth discrepancy now. (See: McNair, McAuliffe)

I think, based on his usage, "fake news" means "News that paints me in a negative light".

Whoever gives him his daily orange spray tan is fake news.

50
Keep in mind, we still haven't been shown any good evidence that it was a cover-up in the first place. Is the existence of a few lookalikes really the only "evidence" that you have? In the spirit of the season: Sad! Weak! Terrible!

Because identical doppelgangers with the same name are so common?

Yes. Allow me to introduce you to...

Dr. Lloyd Thomas "Tom" Bishop. RIP.

Tom Bishop.

I found these in about 30 seconds with a google image search. Your argument is dumb.

What if he doesn't sink?

Then I weep for the state of America in 4 years.

Edit: Who knows. Maybe all this Russia business is smoke without substance. Maybe he will learn to stop insulting other world leaders for stupid reasons. Maybe he will start making sane policy decisions based on intelligent analysis and verifiable data rather than InfoWar's latest conspiracy theory or that morning's cable news opinion pieces. Maybe he will make the effort to understand our various trade and security agreements with other nations and refrain from making rash decisions based on uninformed campaign talking points. Maybe he won't undermine the constitutional integrity of our nation by ignoring judicial authority. Maybe, maybe, maybe.

Trump called a press conference.
Spent the time complaining about the press, the media, Democrats sad that they lost, and fake news.
Does this man have anything better to do than bitch?  He is literally the bitchiest president we have ever had and still people follow him, treating him like some god given savior of America.
(Yes, I've seen facebook comments that say just that.)

The neverending cringe-fest of doom. On the plus side, the longer he keeps this up, the more of his supporters he will drag down with him when he inevitably sinks.

53
Keep in mind, we still haven't been shown any good evidence that it was a cover-up in the first place. Is the existence of a few lookalikes really the only "evidence" that you have? In the spirit of the season: Sad! Weak! Terrible!

But couldn't they have just made a fake segment to show to the TV companies? Why would they have a REAL prop that ALSO could blow up?

Lot's of people saw it live. Even if you were nowhere near the launch site, you could see the plume of smoke from miles and miles away.

So did the problem get resolved?
Yes. Genuine concerns were isolated from thinly-veiled attempts at sabotaging the Flat Earth Theory and resolved.

I appreciate your input, but your support for Tom Bishop isn't particularly relevant, since you didn't actually participate in the experiment. It would be most helpful if Tom himself would comment, since he is the only one with knowledge of the details of the experiment. The fact that he is avoiding this thread doesn't help his case.

Does anyone think it is acceptable for an unelected and unimpeachable government body to actively undermine and engage in espionage against our elected officials for political reasons?

I'm confused. Is making them an elected body supposed to make them LESS political?

56
Which is why witness protection never bothered changing people's names either... oh wait. They did.

That would involve convincing other federal agencies to join in on your scam. Sounds risky.

Bahahahaa! This makes zero since. So they are still operating under their old SSN? And that's not riskier than trying to get their name changed? Or did they get them a new SSN, forge a work history, family history, but decided "nah, let them keep their old name"? Lol.

Alright, that's all the stupid I can handle for today...

57
So good that they managed to pull off a massive conspiracy without being caught, but so incompetent that they would let the people whose deaths they faked just walk out and live public lives without changing their names or appearances? Lol, ok...

Again, in 1986 the internet was barely an email and bulletin board system, no one had any idea what it could become. None of this would have been discoverable back then at all. People were more anonymous back then. Simple instructions like move to another city and work in a different field may have seemed sufficient to an organization who had never really done this before. They may have even offered to pay to send them back to school.

Which is why witness protection never bothered changing people's names either... oh wait. They did.

I noticed you deleted some stuff questioning Judith Reznik's past. In case you are still curious...
https://www.law.yale.edu/judith-resnik
https://www.law.yale.edu/system/files/documents/pdf/JResnik_Publications.pdf

There are multiple publications from before the Challenger disaster. Apparently Yale is now a part of the conspiracy too?

And "lie low"? Richard Scobee was a CEO even before disaster happened!

Did you think he would list "Dead Astronaut" on his bio?

Notice how he does not list the date of graduation from his university.

"Hey, what should my back story be?"
"Pretend to be a CEO. That should be easy to get away with!"
"Brilliant!"

You've stumped me!
Blue. One blew this way, one blew that way.

Too soon? lol ;D

Wow. Dark...

Yes, but no one was really looking for them, and trust in NASA was through the roof. They may have had them lie low for a while, and figured that everything would be okay. No one said that NASA was very good at this.

Like I said, you are seeing what you want to see. Their voices definitely don't sound alike. Finding a picture of them making a similar facial expression is not particularly convincing.
This isn't just passing resemblance here. They are twins right down to that odd lip dip thing she has going on.

They have the same name, they look alike, and have the same facial ticks. It's more than mere chance coincidence.

Reznik is one of the ones that I originally said looks the LEAST like her doppleganger. I repeat, you are seeing what you want to see.

59
2 of them are pictures of their brothers. Lol. Surprise, surprise, brothers look alike.

Plausible, but adult brothers of the same parents usually look different, not identical.

Right, and you are making that call based on a 30 year timelapse between the photos? Lol. You are seeing what you want to see.

Quote
Quote
The entire premise of this is ridiculous. Do you honestly believe that if NASA really faked their deaths, they would let them keep their old names? Or that they would make them assume the lives of their brothers without anyone noticing?

The disaster happened on Jan 28th, 1986, long before the internet took off. They may have moved the astronauts to a new city and thought that would be enough. The internet was still very early and mostly in text only stage, and this kind of independent investigation may not have been forseen.

Newspapers and TV's were a thing back then. This event was all over the news. Their names and faces were all over the news.

Why anyone claims there is no buoyancy is beyond me.

Because buoyancy is caused by a pressure gradient. The pressure gradient is caused by a force. We call that force gravity. No force => no pressure gradient. No pressure gradient => no buoyancy.
