This is a very original thread that I was inspired to create on my own.  Anyway:

That works.

I mean, they have dash mounted cams on the cars.  Now its on their uniform.

Add an always on GPS and you're golden.
Of course replacing the video feed and/or simply not uploading it are still possible but its better than having word of mouth only.
If you are going to DebOOonK an expert then you have to at least provide a source with credentials of equal or greater relevance. Even then, it merely shows that some experts disagree with each other.

What purpose would the always-on gps serve?
I don't even care to find out what you're doing wrong, but I'm sure you're doing something wrong.

The always-on gps is used to track vehicle usage.  It cuts down on non-work related use.

To ensure police officers are where they say they are, when.

I think it might be a good idea to make police in departments that have a lot of trouble with police brutality and harassment of citizens to be recorded the whole time they're on the job.

Police are always on the job.  It doesn't end just because they take their uniform off!  Clearly, they must be monitored by these cameras 24/7.

So that they can figure out where the most popular doughnut shops are.

Sounds like it makes policing more efficient and reduces the amount of bad policing. I don't really see a reason why not.
You don't think I'm going to post here sober, do you?  ???

I know this is sarcasm, but that's not relevant if the cameras are only used when they're working/on the clock.
