Flat Earth Community / Planetary Ecliptic
« on: April 21, 2017, 04:23:22 AM »
So, my 10 year old and I have be watching Jupiter for several months.  On the weekends  we have getting up in the middle of the night to check it out. We live at 44° north latitude. We have noticed:
1) The solar ecliptic has been getting higher in the sky over the last few months.
2) The planetary ecliptic has been getting lower for the last few months.

This makes sense with heliocentric model with the axis of the earth tilted at 23.5°.  The northern hemisphere is tipped towards the sun during the day causing the ecliptic if the sun to rise.  At night it's tipped away form the planetary ecliptic causing the planetary ecliptic to be closer to the southern horizon.

What is the flat earth explanation for this observation?  According to the wiki the planets orbit the sun. If the sun is revolving around a more northern latitude approaching summer then why don't the planets also appearing to be higher in the sky.  Instead the opposite is observed.

Flat Earth Community / The flat Earth and the equinox
« on: April 09, 2017, 06:39:48 PM »
I made a video to try and understand the mechanics of the flat earth map and the equinox.  I made it work using Tom's bendy light theory.  Any thoughts?

Flat Earth Theory / Angular Diameter change of Venus and Mars
« on: March 21, 2017, 01:37:50 AM »
I've been watching Venus and Mars nightly for nearly a year when the weather allows. It's been very neat to watch the phases of Venus change.  I've also been comparing their angular diameter changes.   I've watch Venus grow almost 6 times in size.   Mars has shrunk about 5.5 times since this time 1 year ago.   What is TFES explanation for this size change?   I couldn't find anything in the Wiki.  The principles of perspective would suggest a significant change in distance (6 times the distance)  from the earth.

Flat Earth Theory / Latitude
« on: February 01, 2017, 02:09:56 AM »
An excerpt from the Wiki:
"Latitude
To locate your latitude on the flat earth, it's important to know the following fact: The degrees of the earth's latitude are based upon the angle of the sun in the sky at noon equinox.
That's why 0° N/S sits on the equator where the sun is directly overhead, and why 90° N/S sits at the poles where the sun is at a right angle to the observer. At 45 North or South from the equator, the sun will sit at an angle 45° in the sky. The angle of the sun past zenith is our latitude.
Knowing that as you recede North or South from the equator at equinox, the sun will descend at a pace of one degree per 69.5 miles, we can even derive our distance from the equator based upon the position of the sun in the sky."

Have any of those who subscribe to the FE theory tested this?    I did yesterday.   I'm at North  44* 05'.   The sun at its high point was 28 degrees elevation (62* from zenith)  using the inclinometer on my Brunton compass.   Using the spherical earth theory and considering the earth's axis tilt (solar declination)  I calculated 44* 12'.  This was using the formula that has been used for centuries.  That's pretty close to my GPS and map position.   The flat earth formula described above put me at 62* North which is clearly incorrect.

What is the explanation?

Flat Earth Theory / Phases of Venus
« on: January 24, 2017, 03:52:17 AM »
So there are phases of Venus that are similar to the moon.  It changes from full to waning gibbous to new to waxing gibbous to full again.   It also changes its angular diameter through its phases.   When it's full it has the smallest angular diameter.    When it's new it has the largest angular diameter.  This is very explainable with the heliocentric model.   What is the flat earth model a explanation?

Flat Earth Theory / August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse
« on: January 06, 2017, 03:19:05 AM »
So the heliocentrist spherical earth scientists are predicting a solar eclipse on August 21st in 2017.  They have calculated the locations across the world where a full eclipse will be visible and the timing in those locations down to the second.   How can they do this?  Can the flat earth scientists predict an event like this?   Are the scientists who are making these predictions really just flat earth scientists who are really smart?  What is the FES explanation for solar eclipses?

I searched the wiki but couldn't find anything about solar eclipses.

What latitude ring is the sun orbiting on 12/12/16?
