Flat Earth Theory / Re: How does the flat earth theory explain the moon?
« on: November 29, 2017, 12:54:27 AM »

I am curious where the moon is projected from. Is the projector here on Earth or in space orbiting the Earth?

The 'moon' is projected, because Satan wills it to be. Asking how he does this, is like asking how God's power reaches all through the four corners of the Earth, it is just so. Any whose mind and attention is drawn to the 'moon' too long are being subjected to Satans grasp, and should instead turn their attention to faith in God. Amen
In your earlier post you said

So there you are clearly stating it is done by mankind, thus using technology (a projector). So my (simple) question remains, where is projected from?

The Moon is not flat, nor is it round, there is in fact no moon at all. What you're seeing is an incredibly large projection of what you think to be a moon, cast by scientists to try and distract the common populace from the truth of the Earth. Do not be mislead by these other people, have faith in God and put all your trust in the bible, and you will live a life true to yourself. Amen

Since you think you have gravity all worked out, where is your nobel prize?
Does this suggest that you consider the Nobel Prize a gold standard of sorts and that you would then accept as factual any theories that had received that award?

Why does the moon turn that gorgeous shade of orange/red as it approaches totality in a lunar eclipse?

The Shadow Object is not sufficiently dense: https://wiki.tfes.org/Why_the_Lunar_Eclipse_is_Red

So you are saying that the mystery planet isn't dense enough to block all light, but allows the reddish bandwidths to leak through. So that would mean we shouldn't see it completely block out other stars, but that we should see them turn red when it passes in front of the sun or other visible objects. Is that correct?

It is alleged that "refraction" does this, but light moving through a medium should come out the same angle that it came in.

I really don't understand this example. Where are these square objects that refract, then re-refract light onto its original heading?

Another set back for the FE rocket launch project. Permit problems and the launcher/RV had mechanical issues. Sounds like just a postponement though which is understandable. It took NASA lots of tries to get into space for the first time also.

There is a difference between the meanings of "could" and "did".
The context of what I quoted was about the expanded uses now that these devices are becoming smaller. They are not a recent invention.

But let's not try to change the subject. If what keeps us on Earth is UA and gravity doesn't exist, why would these devices exist? In UA, they simply could not work.

To the original poster, you probably won't see any further responses. Too many questions that FE can't answer. So the post will go dormant. But I thank you for the question and hope you found the discussion interesting.

If ones of the uses for this device is finding submarines

Who actually found a submarine with one?
I couldn't say, I only claimed that the article I read mentioned they were using the device in this case. I guess it's possible that it has never been used for this purpose and someone thought that with a missing sub this would be a great time to try it for the first time ever. Doesn't seem very likely to me.

But let's not change the subject. Why would this device exist in a world with UA and no gravity?

Here are some uses of the devices now that they are becoming smaller and more portable.

Quote
Researchers could deploy networks of the tiny gravimeters to monitor the movements of magma within and underneath volcanoes, possibly discerning the magnitudes and patterns of flows in advance of an eruption, for example. Or they could mount them on drones and use them to search for underground voids that could eventually evolve into sinkholes, or for humanmade structures such as tunnels used to smuggle drugs.

FE also holds that there is still gravitational influence by heavenly bodies. Having a device would be helpful in measuring that. Of course, I am sure you have done some research, so you already knew that.

So yes, there is your answer. And it was more a criticism of your logic, not your grammar. Take care!
If ones of the uses for this device is finding submarines, then every place they use it would be, by definition, at sea level. Which would be a consistent distance from "heavenly bodies". So their influence would not be a factor.

Further more, if the variance of gravity were actually explained by influence from "heavenly bodies", then it would be a function of altitude from the Earth's surface. (100 feet above ground, 100 feet closer to the stars). This device would still serve no purpose.

You know, I wish you would say that to all the Round Earthers who keep sending us abusive messages about how they totally saw curvature from a commercial plane at 30,000ft. Perhaps the Round Earth is much smaller than advertised? ;)

He has...

Yep - sorry - I'm with the FE'ers on that score.  You can't visibly see a curved horizon at 40,000 feet - which is the altitude that airliners fly.

You need to be up at around 100,000 feet to see it clearly.

But there are amateur balloonists and amateur rocket enthusiasts who put cameras up that high...many MANY YouTube videos of them doing it are out there.

How is that a non-sequitur?

Because the conclusion doesn't follow from the premise.
FE holds that gravity doesn't exist, right? (UA). If this was true, why would such a device exist? Call it a question, not a conclusion.

Do you have an answer, or just grammar criticism?

Once Hughes launches himself high into the air, it will be yet another piece of evidence for our flat-earth.
Keep in mind that the flight he plans for this weekend will not exceed 2000 feet, so don't get your hopes up that he is going to prove anything. This is just a test flight.

Personally, I think it's a good idea, but also one I doubt I'd be participating in. This is because I spend most of my "publicity time" on speaking to mainstream media outlets these days (as much as I have a slight disdain for them, they do also offer a very wide audience).

DA's point about anonymity strikes me as true. Not because your boss might see it, but because there are some fairly vile people out there who might physically assault you for holding unconventional beliefs.
Where could we view your past media participations? Sounds interesting.

And for what its worth, I really doubt anyone is going to care enough about round/flat Earth differences to assault anyone. I didn't even know there were still flat Earth believers until a few months ago. I've mentioned participating in these forums to a few friends, and they really didn't care.

I like your idea, basically find someone on the opposite side of the (round) Earth and in the other hemisphere.

If I could make a suggestion, instead of each person needing to find their partner, perhaps people could show there interest in participating using the forum, then people could be matched up.

I would participate from Atlanta, GA, USA.

How is that a non-sequitur?

It turns out that any field where delicate measurements of weight are required must correct for differences in gravity:

Interesting comment, wouldn't have thought about that drug manufacturing using something like that. I had never heard of the device, but saw in mentioned in an article about the search for the missing Argentine navy sub. Hope it will help them find it.

I had read many years ago about the US Navy searching for subs with a device called a Magnetic Anomaly Detector (MAD), but had no idea the gravitation field could be measured that precisely.

The shadow object is rotating around the sun from the sun's side, at a slightly off tilt plane. We only see a limited range of the sun's underside, and never see the sun from its side, as discussed in my posts on the previous page, and so we should never expect it to transit for us.

Just one more thing... If we see the underside of the sun and never from the side, how do you explain the pattern of sun spots that we observe from Earth? I've seen time lapse videos showing sun spots moving across the face of the sun. The patterns I recall seeing look how I would expect the view should look when viewed from the side.

Was your belief of seeing the underside confirmed? I assume that if this was the case there would be patterns of spots near the sun's south pole moving in a circle or ellipse, in constant view.

If the FE belief in UA (Universal Acceleration) is accurate, why would anyone have invented this device?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravimeter

Seems like a rather obscure device to have created just to maintain a round Earth conspiracy.

I think a live discussion would make a lot of sense, but I doubt you will get much participation from the FE crowd. Just my opinion based on the non responsiveness and the negativity I have seen to other invitations. In my short time here I have seen several inquiries from students looking for FE background, interviews, debates, etc. I haven't seen any positive responses from the FE believers.

I've seen some fairly negative responses. I've also seen an accusation that all such invitations are from a single party using multiple alternate ("alt") users. Of course I have no way to know if that is true or not. But it strikes be as an excuse to preemptively ignore such requests.

If you get any FE takers on your invitation, that would be great. I think a YouTube debate would be interesting, perhaps multiple videos each dedicated to a specific aspect of FE/RE viewpoints.

I know you're trying to make it seem like whistleblowing is highly dangerous here, but protections for those doing so are also much higher than in Thomas's time
I have a hunch Edward Snowden and Julian Assange would not agree with you on that one. Besides, the nice thing about an arranged "freak accident" is that it's fairly immune to legal protections.
Well there is your answer Pete. Wikileaks. It's obvious that you agree that Assange goes to great lengths to protect his sources and to keep them anonymous. So send him your rock solid conspiracy evidence and murder evidence and he will publish it without the men in black being able to track you down.

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Sun Eclipse "Caused & Effects"!

During an eclipse the moon is on the same side of the world as the sun is, and therefore the moon is also on the opposite side of the planet, and therefore also not visible.

This confusing me! Are you trying to say that, the moon be in different places at the same time?
I think he means the moon is on the opposite side from someone on the night side of the Earth.

When the moon move into the spot directly between the sun and Earth it causes an eclipse. When the eclipse happens, it is always day or night for someone depending on where on Earth they are standing. The picture Rounder posted is good for showing the relationships (although not the scale). In that example (which looks similar to the August 2017 eclipse) it is daytime in North America and night in Africa.
