It is not easy to go to space.  Amateur rockets only make it to around 20Km or so.  The sun and moon are farther than that, and the stars and planets are even farther.  The problem lies in fuel to weight ratio.
The V2 was a missile that hit London if I'm not mistaken (ie real) and came to 200km. How far is the moon / sun?
In addition, it was built exactly as they say they are built rockets. So why not build a rocket like the Saturn and "control"?

How far was German held territory from London during WWII?  I am fairly sure it was closer than the 3000 miles that the sun has been calculated to be above the Earth.  ::)  Besides, when you launch something at the proper angle, it only needs half the fuel because it is falling the other half of the journey.  I am not sure what you are having problems comprehending here.

Wow,   seems like someone touched a nerve.
Does it logically follow, in your opinion,  that everyone who disagrees with you is a paid shill, who has nothing in their future but oblivion?

Some of you are paid shills, no doubt.  Others are simply trolls who go to forums just to disagree with others and start fights.  Either way, the ultimate goal is to cause disruption to the conversations that the free thinkers are engaging in.  Some of the shills and trolls are good at disrupting, others are not so good.

Hi veggero and welcome to the forums.  I see you have a lot questions, and that is a good thing.  However, it is hard to give you good answers and have a discussion when you present us with list as long as my arm of questions.  Let's start with your first question, and we can progress from there.  No, I do not think any of the celestial objects are dishes or disks.  I believe they are likely spherical, but much closer than the lying satanists at NASA tell you they are.

By the way, which country are you from?

mister bickles, it is common courtesy to at least make a comment about some of the points in the video.

No RE-er would expect to see curvature on such a small FOV, sorry to bust your bubble.

lol, so that was a joke then?  That was a good one.  You are one of the funnier RE'ers here.  Most of you are militant and not funny at all.  I suppose the shill pay grade lets you say things like this?

Anyone can take a guided tour trip of Antarctica.  That does not mean that they will let you go where ever you want or do whatever you want.  They provide minders, sort of like taking a trip to North Korea.

I think that it is likely nearly pure phlogiston rather than a nuclear reaction that powers the sun.

There is no tube, markjo, but in case you have not noticed, we have an atmoplane and light can not travel infinitely through air.  I thought Googleotomy, I mean geckothegeek, was the only one that needed simple explanations broken down into childish terms.   :-\

Listen to markjo.  He was there.

Googleotomy, if you have a small DC incandecent lamp, it is shining in pretty much all dirctions, right?  If you put the bulb into a tube, like a toilet paper tube, then the light coming out the other end will be a spot, correct?  The tube is causing the bulb to act like a spolight, even though i is not a spotlight.
Are you suggesting that there is a giant tube surrounding the sun?  ???

Are you really this dumb, or are you just acting dumb?
Given your toilet paper tube comment, I'd have to ask you the same question.

I am sorry that I had to dumb it down for my friend Googleotomy, but we might have had 3 more pages of him ranting about how something can not both act like a spotlight and not be a spotlight.  Were you enjoying his rants, markjo?  You guys can PM each other.

Flat Earth Community / Re: What is the Advantage of a Globe Theory?
« on: August 04, 2015, 08:27:27 PM »
Due to the curvature of the earth the distance to the horizon depends on the height of the observer and can be determined by a simple formula. The higher you are the farther you can see to the horizon.

In Dubai at the Burj Khalifa you can watch the sun set then ride the high speed elevator to the 124th floor. On the way up the set sun will rise again and you can then watch it set a second time.

Who performed this experiment?  Or, is this just another of those "If the is earth is round, then this would happen" hypotheticals that you people misunderstand to be facts?

A spotlight is a spotlight is a spotlight.
A spotlight  shines in only one  direction and its beam is in the form of a circle.

Answer to the question:
If the sun is a spotlight and shines down on the earth how is the moon illuminated ?

Nobody said the sun is a spotlight. ::)

Don't let Googleotomy (aka Geekwhatever) get under your skin.  We have been dealing with him for years.  He keeps promising to go away, but never does.

I see.  So you navigated using flat maps, and this somehow proves that the Earth is a ball.  You seem to be a little delusional, IMHO.

Well.....I was in the US Navy and we certainly knew the earth is a globe and we certainly didn't use any flat earth maps for navigation.

You navigated using a globe?

This might be a dumb question, but is it possible that Thork does not have Java enabled or some other setting in Edge?

I am sure I am not alone, but for those who have every day jobs it seems unbelievable that anyone would even think, much less believe, that the earth was flat.

Of course I am speaking of those of us who work or have worked in fields regarding aeronautical or naval navigation. Globe is not a theory. It is a fact. Flat earth is not even a theory.

Good to see you keep such an open mind.  ::)  I doubt many FEers will bother engaging in a conversation with you.  Isn't there a round Earth society you can go join?
