Web chat for IRC

We now have a basic web chat set up:

https://irc.tfes.org/

It basically works, although there are one or two kinks I'd like to straighten out at some point. I'd like to ask the regulars (particular those who find IRC difficult) to give it a try and let me know if they think it's useful, or if there's anything they think is missing.

I'll be adding it to the homepage at some point in the next week if all goes well.

Tried, can't use it.

I get to the screen, I see all the names on the right hand side, there is no place for me to type my message. I can't communicate. There is a menu top right, no where does it tell me how to type anything.

There's a little bar at the bottom of the screen. You click there and the cursor appears.

I used the web chat on my phone, after about 5 minutes of nothing Saddam chimes in with "on the notion of lore", so I immediately closed the window.

Seems to work pretty well, though. Even on mobile.

Edit: Ahhh, its dark grey. Was expecting a white bar.

Its already Thork-proof. I have no interest in having a window open that does nothing for 2 hours and then has Saddam say "On the notion of marriage" to which 45 more minutes pass before Beardo passes his condolences.

IRC doesn't interest me because it is real time without a set time to meet and exchange conversation. Its mostly waiting for someone else to say something inane or making your own post and getting no reply for ages. If I want to be ignored, I'll go and dance provocatively at young women in a local club.
