Because even Windows 9 couldn't be what Windows 8 should have been.

God dammit Microsoft, why can't they just be normal and increase the number by one? Xbox One, Windows 8.1, Windows 10.

When are they bringing Windows XP back? Just call it XP2. It would sell millions.

Why? Contrary to the opinion of people who don't actually use computers, Windows 7 and 8.1 are huge improvements over XP. Even Vista was better, despite everyone jumping on the "hurr durr vista is bad and I don't even know why!" bandwagon.

I think you're over-correcting in response to the "hurr durr Vista is bad" bandwagon. While that group does exist, it only exists because a lot of people who know what they're talking about realize that Vista actually is really bad. If you want some serious hardcore evidence just see that this Wikipedia article explaining the criticisms of Vista is more than twice as long as the one regarding criticism of XP.

Vista had a lot of features that made it better than XP, the problem was the features were implemented in a less than optimal manner (notoriously the RAM  application storage, which sometimes decides to eat up just about all of your RAM for giggles). Vista wasn't good at being Vista, but it was still a step forward from XP. The intial bandwagon of Vista being bad was due to companies shipping "Vista ready" computers, despite knowing full well that 2GB of RAM is not enough for Vista.

Still doesn't beat the jump from 3.11 to 95.

Microsoft always make a 'good' OS followed by a bad one. XP was 'good', Vista was bad, Windows 7 good, Windows 8 bad, ... they clearly think the next one is going to be bad so they have numbered it appropriately.

Still doesn't beat the jump from 3.11 to 95.
Then there was the jump from 4.0 to 2000.

lol 10/10

He isn't joking, unless he is literally referring to Windows 8 and not 8.1. Anyone who doesn't think Windows 8.1 is better than Windows 7 doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.

At first I didn't like it, but it slowly won me over. The start screen is still obnoxious and useless on a desktop, but overall the OS runs better, boots faster (like near SSD speeds on my laptops HDD) and is easier to use.
