Flat Earth Community / What convinced you that the Earth is flat?
« on: June 01, 2017, 01:27:21 PM »
I've been looking through the evidence, and there's a lot, but I was wondering what exactly was the tipping point for you all here?

What made you certain that the Earth is not a globe, despite all we've been taught through our lives?

Was it a certain piece of evidence, if so which?

Did it begin as a curiosity from a skeptical point of view or did you always have some idea that we have been lied to?

Thanks,

Howard

The earth is most likely flat, because that is what is observed.

The earth most likely has two poles, because two poles have been observed.

The firmament most likely does not exist, because it has not been observed.

The earth is most likely endless, because it is seemingly endless. No end has been observed.

Thank you for your answers.

How does the two poles fit into the flat earth model, though?
Surely the South Pole, not being a singular fixed point, but rather the entire circumference of the planet, is then entirely different from the North?

And could the South pole not conceivably be the end? If we have seen nothing passed this, then it may mean there is nothign to see.

So it seems there are plenty of different ideas of the shape of the earth and what surrounds it.

I've seen sources claiming it's flat or that it's a kind of bowl shape.

Some people believe in the firmament, while others disagree.

Is there an ice wall or aether surrounding the planet?

Some claim there are lands beyond the known Earth, while others think there is a defnitive edge.

What I wanna know is what are the most likely theories. Obviously a lot of them are speculative, some are based on math and observations.

But they can't all be true. So which is most likely, and why?

Right so "open to specualtion [sic]" equals "must be aliens". LOL, no wild leaps of imagination there.

If we were all as close minded as Roundy, then we'd all believe the earth is round.

Most flat earthers don't believe in ET life, earth is the only thing capable of supporting life.

Some believe that they come from antarctica or from the lands past the ice wall.

Or even that these alternative propulsion craft are man made.

Do you follow secureteam10? I like his work.

Wow! There are possibly lands beyond the ice wall? Is there any evidence of this? Is it possible to reach these lands? Maybe using alien technology.

The simple answer is that extraterrestrial life just doesn't exist, and fortunately there is no scientific evidence to counter that answer, so case closed.

I've seen much more compelling evidence that we have been visited from other beings; whether they are from outer space, here on earth or another dimension, than I have of the sun being in our atmosphere, or the earth accelerating upwards.

But maybe I just haven't seen it  :P

Long-time UFO believer, new to the Flat Earth theory; but intrigued.

 Are these two theories diometrically opposed? The existence of God does not neccesarily contradict the existence of life on other planets, but the certain parts of the Flat Earth model have me conflicted. After many night's consideration I have come up with the following questions;

1. How would vessels from outer space enter the earth's atmosphere through the firmament?

2. If there are other planets apart from Earth that are round, what would lifeforms look like from a round planet? (e.g animals from the deep ocean form differently due to the pressure from the water. Would creatures on ball planets form differently?)

3. Is it possible that another planet like Earth (flat) exists somewhere out there?

Any opinions appreciated,

Howard

If the Earth were really a ball... How come they faked six moon landings?
