For some odd reason it's No Rain by Blind Melon.
-
unfortunately it is the theme song for Psych- a series on Netflix. USED to kinda LIKE it, but since it's been rolling around my head like a demented demon,
sort of lost it's catchy appeal.

It's not a very catchy song, but I've been trying to memorize it and learn to rap it just to impress myself, and thanks to that I haven't been able to get it out of my head. It is going rather well. :D Verses 1 and 3, at least, since the other two suck.

Zombie - The cranberries.

Police and Thieves by The Clash.

The Pokémon theme song. I blame Parsifal.
-
The Climb by Miley Cyrus. I just woke up with it in my head.

Zombie - The cranberries.
When I worked at a fast food restaurant, we had a 4-track player that had this song on the track, so every 2 hours I'd hear this song. It was terrible.
Also, right now, the chorus to 'Re: Your Brains' by Johnathan Coulton.

I got it when I read this title.
Suddenly the repeat lines "in your head" came into mine.

Wow, just the other day I realized why I had an orchestrated version of one of my all-time favourite Zelda songs ("Palace" from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link) in my head even though I've only been listening to it since last year...my favourite Super Smash Bros. Melee level's (in adventure mode) theme was it. So I knew this song before I knew this song. This is an astounding revelation and when I realized I became very happy

Compared with the original, which I love to death:

I prefer the original. Also, I don't know how you couldn't tell that they were the same song immediately. Maybe it was because I spent much of my youth playing Zelda II, it was my favourite NES game for quite some time, and it was so hard to beat the final boss.

Can't shift it. But its ok cos its awesome. :D

Well, like I said, I only played and beat Zelda II for the first time last year. :P Melee I played when it first came out, so I "knew" that version first, but it was a vague memory of the track that only somewhat arose. I had this vague notion of having heard the track before, but chalked it off to having a wild imagination that messes with and reinterprets songs on its own. But for some reason it struck me that day where I'd heard it before.

The song features very prominently in Zelda II.

This is the first song I've heard in over a year that I've listened to over and over a buncha times in a row. It is great.

I think you're misunderstanding me. I played Super Smash Bros. Melee many years ago, but haven't played it in like 10-ish years. Then last year I played Zelda II, heard the song, loved it. Then as I kept on listening to it over the past year I started thinking I'd heard an orchestrated version of it somewhere and started getting some weird déjà-vu with it, then I realized where I'd heard it before was in Melee.

You all have my sympathy. Well.. All except Th*rk.

"Blue Moon" by Beck.

Songs from Frozen. Don't judge me.

I'm understanding you, I'm just saying that it's in Zelda II a lot, so when I heard it in Smash Bros. Melee, it was very obvious where it came from. With so many songs being in Smash Bros. it's understandable that perhaps going from that to Zelda II, the link may not be as obvious.
