Some people are just too big to fail and their legacy endures.

Singer of the Lost Prophets ... cancelled. Their music just wasn't that good.
Michael Jackson ... played on the radio all the time.

Dave Chapelle isn't getting cancelled because he is one of the best acts out there. Its anyone just below that who can be cancelled and disappear. The people who really get battered are regular people. Maybe someone works for Pepsi, makes a tweet and the next thing, they lost their job.

I largely agree, but I believe that as these things go Bezos’ rocket is relatively “green”.

Doesn't get any greener than green screen.

If I don't see Shatner bathed in sweat and unconscious, then the world isn't round!  >o<

4
I used to fly aerobatics. I can tell you now that after taking extreme g's, you are shattered afterwards. Exhausted. And yet rather than Shatner saying "I'm broken and by the way, you knocked me out twice. Once on the way up and again on the way down" he is instead prattling on about the sky changing colour. You think he might mention the extreme forces on his body.

If Shatner held a 6-g pull, I want to see that footage. Not carefully curated 'experiences' of joy and wonderment on a 480p potato cam.

5
I'd like to see some footage of Shatner experiencing some g-force on the way up. It feel suspicious that a 90 year old man who is badly out of shape is able to withstand 6g.

Quote from: https://www.boston.com/news/national-news/2021/10/13/william-shatner-space-launch-blue-origin-livestream-video
Blue Origin said Shatner and the rest of the crew met all the medical and physical requirements, including the ability to hustle up and down several flights of steps at the launch tower. Passengers are subjected to nearly 6 G’s, or six times the force of Earth’s gravity, as the capsule returns to Earth.

Below is a man less than half Shatner's age dealing with less than 4g.

I think we can call this Shatner trip to space bullshit.

6
Why is Shatner not floating about in a zero g environment? It takes absolutely no effort at all. The entire point of the freefall is to give that sensation. Why does Shatner not get involved in the very experience the flight is supposed to provide?

I'd add the floating objects in the cabin all look CGI'd and why would you build a multi billion dollar rocket and fit it with a potato cam? 480p is the best camera they could afford? Give me one reason why I can't watch this in 4k on youtube. Youtube says 1080p, but there is no way the original is 1080p.

7
^ So the stunt actors are attached to harnesses and demonstrate the weightlessness. Meanwhile a 90 year old Shatner, too fragile to be dangled from a harness remains planted to his seat, but for a brief moment when he stands ... yes stands ... upright in a zero g environment.

Something smells.

8
The interview is not very convincing to be honest. He doesn't seem much to me like a man who brushed the face of God. More like an old hack, hamming it up in a badly cast cameo.

Yeah, but if that rocket exploded 65 miles above the Atlantic Ocean and Shatner was gone, that would be actual proof.
I would buy a small chunk of exploded Shatner if Blue Origins were to make keychains or paper weights or something.

9
Literally zero footage of Shatner. How am I supposed to believe he went to space?

All you get is an interview with him standing some distance from the supposed launch vehicle. He's an actor (granted not a very good one). I get that he can memorise what to say. Where was the space flight footage?

If he gets attacked by Tribbles, I'm calling BS.

I see nothing in here to contradict the fact that the UK is currently losing hard to the Dutch.
Congrats on beating a remote outpost with a population of 33,000. I don't think England would roll over as easily for you.

It's half time and the Netherlands is already up 3–0. Why are the British so bad at football?

Yeah, alright Dutchaboo 🙄

Why does the UK get to have 4 separate teams. I thought it was one nation? Or are they so desperate to have the World Cup in the aisles that they just forego their super important sovereignty in this case?
Splitting the nation into 4 hardly helps us win World Cups. It means we have the England team base and any other players that might help ... Gareth Bale or Ryan Giggs for example, are not allowed to be included in a UK team.

We have 4 nations because we have separate leagues in those countries and so their respective football associations want the power and money (gate receipts, shirt sales etc) and so we can't unify the team.

Is this really relevant in a thread about football? If you are truly interested in my life story, feel free to create a thread about it in CN or AR, where I can shitpost at you as much as you like.
You profess to be a Northern Ireland fan. I ask the very reasonable question ... 'Why do you support a country you have no connection to?' and you refuse to furnish me with a proper answer. The proper answer is that you are appropriating other people's culture because your own is rather unimpressive. I'm an Englishman. That ranks very high on the list of 'do you have any culture?'. Like a fine wine ... I have provenance. You're trying to slap a champagne label onto a €2 bottle of plonk.

Why?
Because I have Irish heritage. Is it important? They're all just human beings wearing differently coloured shirts, at the end of the day.
Well you should have some reason for picking a random country. If I said "I support England and Lithuania" you'd ignore England and ask me why I supported Lithuania.

So what of this Irish heritage?

Quote from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_heritage
Cultural heritage is the legacy of tangible and intangible heritage assets of a group or society that is inherited from past generations. Not all legacies of past generations are "heritage", rather heritage is a product of selection by society.

Cultural heritage includes tangible culture (such as buildings, monuments, landscapes, books, works of art, and artifacts), intangible culture (such as folklore, traditions, language, and knowledge), and natural heritage (including culturally significant landscapes, and biodiversity).

From the list above, what have you got that is your Irish heritage?

Why do you have a weird obsession with Northern Ireland? Have you ever been? It's a dump.
Ireland has one team, which I would support
Why?

Is there any chance we can move this out of 'Technology & Information" and into a board called "Anoraks"?

^This? This is the most underwhelming keyboard I have ever seen. Its not even backlit. How are you going to find the prt sc button in the dark? Looks like something Hewlett Packard would have bundled with a 486. I'm guessing it doesn't match your black bezeled monitor, your desk, your mouse or anything else.

>he looks at his keyboard when he types
You know I do. I made a thread about it!  >o<

How much did you pay for that monstrosity? $200+ ?

He doesn't want to. He wants someone to use moderator powers on the perpetrator. Its not a stop to the messages he wants. It is revenge.
No, it's a stop to the messages I want.
I already told you how to do that. You weren't interested.

Go into account settings. There you will find an ignore list. Add your nemesis to this list. Poooof! No more DMs from Markjo.
