If the earth were flat, explain mining of minerals and how thick is the disk and what would happen if you were to go to the otherside?

Explain a flight from south america to australia compared to anywhere else. Not completely against "non spherical" but hard to say "flat".

The deepest hole ever drilled is like 7 miles deep. I'd say the earth is at least 7 miles deep.
