RIP Terry Pratchett (1948-2015)
« on: March 13, 2015, 06:35:21 AM »
One of Britain's most beloved writers of fantasy fiction has passed away at the age of 66 following a long and public battle with Alzheimer's disease. I was not his biggest fan, but I have always appreciated his wit and sense of humour, and most of all his dedication to his craft.

His writing turned me from somebody who read occasionally into a voracious reader. He was a genuine inspiration and idol to me.

I re-read Reaper Man, the first Discworld book I ever read, again last night.

I'm gonna have to read all 41 disk world books.

I've got 1 down, 40 to go.
The conviction will get overturned on appeal.

Having completed this marathon myself, I can say that it is a fine endeavor.  And on that subject, I'd actually like to thank Chris for getting me onto them.  His enthusiasm for the series was a big factor in my decision to check out the books.
