Forum style adjustment suggestion: make [b] a bit bolder
« on: August 09, 2016, 04:56:21 PM »
I realise this will be a very subjective issue, and I appreciate that I might find myself in the minority here, but hey:

Personally, I find it a bit difficult to tell the difference between bold and normal text on this forum. If people agree, could we perhaps consider making it bolder? I'm thinking a font-weight of 700 would be much more noticeable than 600.

I personally see it fine but it may also be due to monitor resolutions and what-not.

I've no issue with increasing the font weight.
If you are going to DebOOonK an expert then you have to at least provide a source with credentials of equal or greater relevance. Even then, it merely shows that some experts disagree with each other.

That is odd, they're super different for me. Do you have an odd resolution or something?

I doubt it's a resolution thing - 1080p is more or less standard these days. It also looks slightly different between browsers. In any case, I don't particularly mind if others don't see an issue.

Seconded.

700 is standard. 600 can be a bit hard to distinguish depending on monitor quality, resolution, viewing distance/angle, etc.

Perhaps a better question is whether or not people are against the change. That's two people for the change already, and if nobody has an issue with it, we might as well go ahead with it.

FYI, here is a comparison between 600 and 700 font-weight using the font/size/colors for this website.

That's a big diff.  But the 700 looks like here.

Yeah, same for me. My bold looks like the 700? Unless I'm nuts.

That said, I'm not against the change at all.

Is it fair to assume that we're in agreement about this one, then?

Yeah, just push the change to GitHub and I'll deploy it.
