Going through a box of old stuff and I found the disc for "Total Annihilation Kingdoms" and it works!
Got hooked the first time, about to do the same again.

Canada is going to beat England quite handily this Saturday.

This would make me very happy.

You were saying?

I'm sad. Screw you.

I hope Federer wins Wimbledon and Djokovic finally flunks a PED test.

Well we both agree you are sad.

Crepuscular rays. It's a perspective effect.

And well documented at that. If you actually measure the rays, they are parallel.

How would you suggest we measure the rays? In what universe does that look parallel?

There is a less well observed form called anti-crepuscular rays, look away from the sun at the same time and you sometimes see them but fainter, and they narrow down to a point opposite the sun, proving that it is a perspective thing and the rays are indeed parallel. Very tragic.

I think that there aught to be a rule where posters here should at least comment on previous posts, otherwise we drop in and rarely pay atention to what others like. soo..

Rooster is right on all counts, not Muse's best but the girl is hypnotically beautiful.

Crud' I can understand why they would put a bunch of jazz players in a bus and push it off a cliff, it's probably a bit insensitive to record it though.

And now Portishead, beth has the same black dead eyes as the girl in the Muse vid' and I love her.

So what the fuck happened to Jon's dire-wolf? It can pop out of a cupboard and save fat Sam's sorry ass, but when the shit hits, it's off chasing rabbits.
The High Sparrow lost his fucking marbles, you don't torture Cersie, strip her naked and then let her wander back in to the castle, covered in shit into the arms of the zombie Gregor, she is going to go batshit, especially when she finds out her other kid was snogged to death by the Martell vamp. The bitch with the bell had better sod right off too.
Melisandre's (gorgeous Melisandre) divination was as much use as Jon's wolf, so Stannis gets his features rearranged by the monster dyke and Arya is regretting ever having said acuna matata to two-face now that she is blind, (since when is killing a paedo' the wrong murder?) .
Daenerys seems to have hooked up with Drogo's old crowd just as she realised that the Un-sullied were over priced.
And Sansa and dick-less leap to their deaths (if they are not then GOT physics is on a par with FE's).
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable episode. Now it's back to Vikings and Lagertha (gorgeous Lagertha).

Well I have watched the video time and time again trying to work out what the fuck pizza and rooster are seeing that I don't and I have come to a few conclusions.
It starts off badly for the idiot, as I think he trips, goes into that roll and comes up embarrassed.
I know that my thoughts from this point won't stand up to pizzas rigorous standards of proof, but I get the impression that wearing the badge and carrying that gun haven't quite given him the boost in confidence/respect & hero status he craves, so now being at a disadvantage he gets angry and defensive and tries to regain his standing by shoving people around, this works for a while and gets some of them to sit down. But as in every situation involving a teenage crowd there is a mouthy girl, most of us chilled people know to avoid these like the plague but she is probably the kind that gave him a hard time in school, so he can't and this is where his life goes down the pan, cos' he quite clearly loses it and acts like a cunt, and when two rather brave chaps try to intervene the twat pulls his gun. The other cops probably muttering “wanker” under their breath have to step in before he shoots some one and so he ends up sitting on the fit chick, which is most likely the closest he has come in years to some action. Sorted, that's what happened, take away his badge.

For a seemingly anti establishment “free thinking” lot, the conditioning sure does click in with a resounding kill-switch clunk when ever your authorities decide to brutalise it's own people, way to go.

Apparently “Excessive force was fine” as the 15 year old girl wasn't following the rules!
And the best way to get “people to calm down so they can resolve the situation” is to drag them round the floor by their hair.

By your definition I am “a fucking idiot” as I do believe the first responder should engage in conversation, talk people down, but then again I don't live where you do.
Here the coppers are usually goons too, I firmly believe that anyone who wants to be one should be instantly banned, as they talk about doing good for the community but it's usually the uniform and a sadistic nature. But here they don't have weapons and don't come from a society overrun with bible wielding gun junkies.

From an outside point of view the opinions in the posts above are mental, the consensus amongst my people is, the Neanderthal in the video should lose his job and get the rhinos.

I am seriously glad I don’t live in your two paranoid minds/world, where gate-crashing parties is reason enough for armed response and ultra-violence (but only against the girls). And thuggish cops arriving by combat rolls are lauded for their behaviour in stamping out adolescence, I’m guessing you didn’t get out much when you were young.

Is that your answer? Somebody else's post.

Already comprehensively and brilliantly replied to, "And Pizza? Bollocks!"

Have a lie down.

Horseshit! (going through the animal kingdom in response to Beardo’s crap)

I can’t decide if you are being contrary to elicit a response or you are just an old reactionary with limited imagination as to what goes through a school bully’s mind when he gets a uniform, a gun and the unreserved backing of the masses of people scared of their own youth, which you represent.

Why are you sure he had a legitimate reason? A small barely dressed teenage girl doesn’t need dragging round by her hair and then have a thug sit on her, unless someone is in danger, if she gives you a bit of lip, you being a fully grown man with a gun, tell her to can it, not beat her up.

And Pizza? Bollocks!
If a cop has to pull his gun at an unruly party and assault girls to control it, bring on the rhinos, and hopefully, for humanities sake, you in a bikini is breaking the law.

She obviously did something, and he had to restrain her when she started struggling instead of doing as he said.

Bullshit.

What do you mean “She obviously did something wrong”? Because a barely educated red neck who’s seen too many action movies decides to assault her, that’s your proof?

There was zero menace from those kids, they obviously didn’t have any idea what the fuss was, he didn’t touch one white teenager and when he finally settles on someone to get mean with, it’s a slip of a girl in a bikini, who the fuck goes looking for trouble in a bikini? What a hero!

He should be made to apologise to them all wearing a bikini and then be gang fucked by a herd of rhino.

What the fuck is wrong with your cops?

At the begining when he sets out to tell his story, he says;

"But now that I can see it all as from a lonely hilltop, i know it was the story of a mighty vision given to a man too weak to use it; of a holy tree that should have flourished in a peoples heart with flowers and singing birds, and now it is withered; and of a peoples dream that died in a bloody snow.

I don't believe there is a answer, or a way back. For everything good done there seems to be a hundred Wounded Knees, Black Elk felt he had failed his nation, it was humanities failure.
There is no idyllic time, his people were as warlike as any other and were caught by history, but I do believe (in the words of a song); we took the wrong step years ago.

780

It's hard to say without resorting to cliche and it must have been about twenty years back, but as you know it is a first hand account of the end of the Sioux as a proper nation, and Black Elk's journey to becoming a holy man of his people at this juncture.
I have just got the book down and had a quick look and the prose is spare and poetic, going through The little Big Horn, Ghost dances and Wounded Knee.
Profoundly sad but uplifting in a way, read it, I shall most likely do so again now you have brought it up.
(just a few cliches!)
