Flat Earth Investigations / iSpace lunar lander images of Earth
« on: April 25, 2023, 07:06:49 PM »
Dear respected members of the flat earth forum,

I hope this message finds you well. The purpose of this post is to foster a constructive discussion surrounding the iSpace lunar lander photographs, which were captured from behind the moon and depict Earth as a small, blue sphere. These images have captured the interest of many, and as such, it would be valuable to gain insights from the flat earth community.

To facilitate an open and respectful dialogue, it would be helpful for knowledgeable members of this community to provide scientific explanations that reconcile these lunar lander images with the flat earth perspective.

Additionally, it is intriguing to consider the motivations behind a private, commercial company like iSpace potentially faking the round Earth imagery. What could drive an entire organization to perpetuate the round earth narrative, and how would it benefit them? Insights into these motivations would be greatly appreciated, as they contribute to a broader understanding of this complex subject.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to engaging in a fruitful discussion and learning from the diverse perspectives of this community.

Flat Earth Investigations / Civilians in Space

If you follow any space news you will have heard about SpaceX's Inspiration4 mission by now. This mission is particularly interesting for a few reasons: The capsule is crewed entirely by civilians, it's flying higher than the ISS and every other mission since Hubble, and the crew will be at that altitude for three days straight.

SpaceX has been sharing photos and videos from the flight this morning, suffice to say the curvature of the earth is clearly visible.

Netflix also has a documentary about the events leading up to this flight. https://www.netflix.com/title/81441273

As spaceflight costs come down and these commercial flights become more commonplace, it's increasing important for the flat earth community to have a clear rebuttal to this type of evidence.

So I've found this site which accurately predicts the position of satellites passing overhead. I went outside last night and sure enough it works.

This tool is clearly using a round earth model to predict the positions of the ISS, star link satellites, etc. And it gets everything right, right down to the satellite positions relative to the trees in my front yard.

My question is how can they make predicts like this if they started with an inaccurate globe model?

SpaceX recently posted this video to their official twitter feed. Not only is the curvature of the earth clearly visible, but the flat surfaces of the ISS are also visible which may rule out lens distortion as an explanation for the curve.

How is this phenomenon best explained by modern flat earth theory?

Update:
This thread may also be used to discuss why SpaceX as a private company would choose to spend resources on a fake a mission to the ISS.

SpaceX has built an online ISS docking simulator so you can experience what it is like to dock to the ISS from Crew Dragon. Included with the simulator is an option to change the shape of the earth, and by extension the behaviour of gravity. It also provides a nice illustration of what a flat earth would actually look like from the ISS.

Try it out here:

Edit: Launch aborted due to poor weather conditions, but question still stands.

This is the first time humans will fly on a spacex rocket. Live stream here:

Flat Earth Theory / Car in Space

Space X did a live stream of a car being launched into space on a rocket. In the video the earth is clearly round. Why/how would they fake this?

Flat Earth Theory / What if flat earth theory was widely accepted
« on: December 26, 2017, 05:22:58 PM »
What do you think society would look like if NASA stopped deceiving people into believing the earth is round? Would technology be more advanced than is is now? Would understanding the unique place the earth occupies in the universe lead people to act with better morals and more integrity?

Starting with faulty assumptions leads to faulty results. The widespread misconception that the earth is round must surely be slowing scientific progress and hampering the spread of human rights. What do you think?
