Title: Latest Discoveries in Astronomy: Globe Theory of Earth Refuted, Orlando Ferguson
Post by: Stacy on June 22, 2015, 04:28:20 PM
Hi Everyone! I am new to FE, but I have been working hard on a particular angle of FE research.

I love old, historical FE documents which can be very hard to get a copy of.

I was able to obtain a copy of a FE book by Orlando Ferguson (see title in thread) which is from 1891. Orlando Ferguson dedicated his life's work to FE research. I brought it to another board that gets zero traffic, so I am happy to have found this board, which seems to have active FE researchers.

Are there any researchers here familiar with Orlando Ferguson's work?

This is the map that goes with Orlando Ferguson's books, which he commissioned.

Hi Stacy,

The map you provided is rather quite common. The book, on the other hand, would be a very interesting asset. Would you perhaps be able to digitise it so that we could provide an electronic copy in our Library (http://library.tfes.org)?

No, Ferguson's map is actually NOT common at all, though there are images of it on the internet.

There are only three known original maps: one now in the Library of Congress, one in the Adams Museum of Deadwood, SD, one in a private home in California.

The book I have is even more rare, and does not exist on the internet at all.

I have it in a pdf format, and I have sent it to two FE researchers other than myself since receiving it.

I have also just received a second rare Ferguson book, which I will post about soon.

Do you want to pm me some instructions on how to get it into your library? Thanks!

Stacy

Ok, I just looked at your library list.

Perhaps you could create a separate Orlando Ferguson section for the two books of his?

Here is the map, a current photo which I obtained, as it hangs in the Adams Museum:

My apologies. All I meant to say is that it's commonly known, due to there being multiple digital copies. My personal interest is in the spread of information - if it's widely available in any form, I call it "common". Sorry if I offended.

The book I have is even more rare, and does not exist on the internet at all.
That's precisely why I asked for it. I'd be happy to include it in our Library so it can spread. :)

It's currently maintained by Parsifal and me. If you send the file my way, I'll be happy to include it.

That's certainly something we could do. I hope to have a serious look at the Library soon, bringing some additions that were contributed a while ago. Could do this at the same time.

No worries, no offense was taken.

It did take a lot of effort on my part to get these books (time, research, money) but I want to share them with those interested in FE research.

Please send me an email address for you and I'll send them your way, as it looks like they are bigger files than I can attach on the board system. Thanks!

Hi Stacy!
How can I download a copy of the book? I have searched high and low and cannot find it anywhere.

Thank you!

Hello Pete! Hope you're doing great! Was this document added to the library? I couldn't find it.

Thanks!

I'm also interested if Pete can find the copy that was sent to him to add to the library.

In a shocking turn of events, the full copy never reached me. Considering that we've been waiting for 6 years, it's probably safe to assume bumping this thread will not help.

Locked.
