Flat Earth Theory / Re: Why ship masts appear to sink over the horizon

Aren't ships supposed to lean backwards when they disappear over the horizon? The same thing should be true for tall buildings.

No, it doesn't really proof anything. As you say, on a flat earth they would just lean away from eachother a bit. I just wanted to see if they are using the correct measurements. It also shows that during large building projects the builders are actually taking the curvature of the earth into account. I heard many stories that architects were told to forget about that stuff once they left school.

Flat Earth Theory / Verrazano-Narrows Bridge
« on: December 06, 2015, 07:29:14 AM »
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation:

Because of the height of the towers (693 ft or 211 m) and their distance apart (4,260 ft or 1,298 m), the curvature of the Earth's surface had to be taken into account when designing the bridge—the towers are 1 5⁄8 inches (41.275 mm) farther apart at their tops than at their bases; they are not parallel to each other.

Is this information actually correct? I have no idea how to calculate the distance between the towers at the top. The distance between them at the base is 4,260 ft (0,807 miles). Does anyone know how to do this?

I got you guys beat, I was banned before I could post.
ED lives in Thailand, do a search for 'thailand hitler' and you will see why he went there.
What most of you don't seem to know is ED posts whacked out conspiracy stuff all over under many different names. Kind of like throwing poo and seeing what sticks. As was said above, ifers is a circle jerk.
If you haven't seen how ridiculous things are with him, for me this proves it. If you go to ifers and click on the section called 'Reference Material' and scroll down to a thread about the 'FAA', open and read it. Read the document in question, or just the first page.
Now, if people get banned for asking a question, why wasn't this account banned for spreading this, especially when not one person commenting has even looked at it?
When ED finds what will pay, he will settle there. He is just trying to discredit others to take the 'Alternative News' crown. If you actually read and examine his writings, I think it is safe to say he does not believe, he is trying to create a stay-at-home career.
On top of that, why would an atheist use scripture to prove anything? If you don't believe in god, it takes a gigantic leap of faith to believe the bible is history.

Dr. David Thork you rock!!!

And to the jew hater up there- If we rule everything and have all the money, where the fuck is my money? I'm jewish and never had any.
And how sad must generations be to have been trying to stomp out a group of people for thousands of years, only to fail time and again?
Got banned as well before I was able to login. There's a lot of interesting stuff on his board,  but as usual with every forum,  you have facts and opinions. And it's sometimes difficult to see which is which. Live in the same country as his though, perhaps I'll look him up for a chat,  maybe not.

The Hitler references in Thailand are 100% ignorance,  whatever spin the western media gives to it. Most people here don't have a clue who that guy was and what he did. He just looks cool.  They don't have any opinion about Jews. Depending on the looks they are "farang" (white man) or Arab. Farang are good, they have money.

Dzenghis Khan is much more popular than Hitler,  but also that is due to complete historical ignorance. They haven't got a clue whatsoever regarding this issue.

Yeah.  Now we're on the subject.  How does a digital clock suddenly jump from zero to one,  and, my God, it doesn't stop there.  It has the awareness to go on and show a TWO and a THREE all the way up till NINE and then it starts again.  And how does it know when exactly to do this so that it is in sync with the rising and setting sun. Truly magical stuff.  It must be the 72 demons of Solomon.

Or, the discovery of the apparent global nature of our livingspace was a genuine discovery and everyone more or less went along in time and considered it to be a proven theory. Only during the first attempts at space exploration they figured out the truth and came to the conclusion that it would be better not to try to let this out, because the consequences were difficult to oversee.

Flat Earth Theory / Re: This Made Me Say 'Hmm....' - Planetary Shapes
« on: November 26, 2015, 01:13:58 AM »
In my opinion the idea of having a flat earth, and therefore saying that it is indeed special/different/unique, implies some sort of creator. Some kind of entity who, perhaps long after the universe took shape, created this haven for life to develop. But then again,  who knows and how could we possibly ever find out?
We're lacking the big picture, so we have to do with observing little parts in this huge clockwork and speculate why that little part behaves the way it does and whether that behaviour fits the RE or FE.

How would someone measure they were going in a straight line? Presumably with a compass... So you keep your north right and your south left at all times.... what's the route then on a flat earth? A circle.

What I don't understand is why someone who doesn't think the earth is flat, takes all the time and trouble to find this forum and copy pastes their opinion in every single post that tries to discuss FE. If I'm not into giraffes, I won't go looking for a giraffe forum to specifically point out that I don't like giraffes.
