edge of the earth

I am not a believer but I am still curious while not being hostile.

If the earth is flat why has no-one gone to the edge of the earth, there are some fairly wealthy flat earthers it would not be exceptionally hard to do. Also what in your opinion would happen if one were to "take a leap" as it were of the edge if the earth is accelerating would it fly past us?

Shalom and welcome to the forum OP.
Isaiah 40:22 "It is he that sitteth upon the CIRCLE of the earth"

Scripture, science, facts, stats, and logic is how I argue

Evolutionism is a religion. Can dumb luck create a smart brain?

Maybe they believe their own Wiki and know they can't get past the Ice-Wall.
Quote from: the Wiki
The Ice Wall
The figure of 24,900 miles is the diameter of the known world; the area which the light from the sun affects. Along the edge of our local area exists a massive 150 foot Ice Wall. The 150 foot Ice Wall is on the coast of Antarctica. The Ice Wall is a massive wall of ice that surrounds Antarctica. The shelf of ice is several hundred meters thick. This nearly vertical ice front to the open sea is more than 50 meters high above the water's surface.
The Ice Wall was discovered by Sir James Clark Ross, a British Naval Officer and polar explorer who was among the first to venture to Antarctica in an attempt to determine the position of the South Magnetic Pole. Upon confronting the massive vertical front of of ice he famously remarked
"It was ... an obstruction of such character as to leave no doubt in my mind as to our
future proceedings, for we might as well sail through the cliffs of Dover as to penetrate
    such a mass.

It would be impossible to conceive a more solid-looking mass of ice; not the smallest
appearance of any rent or fissure could we discover throughout its whole extent, and the
intensely bright sky beyond it but too plainly indicated the great distance to which it
    reached southward."

    -- Sir James Clark Ross
Sir James Clark Ross and his expeditionary fleet sailed around the Ice Wall for a number of months in circumnavigation. Between pit stops at the Cape of Good Hope and his polar expeditions, he spent the next several years of his life circumnavigating the southern coast vainly in search of a south sea passage to the other side.
Beyond the 150 foot Ice Wall is anyone's guess. How far the ice extends; how it terminates; and what exists beyond it, are questions to which no present human experience can reply. All we at present know is, that snow and hail, howling winds, and indescribable storms and hurricanes prevail; and that in every direction "human ingress is barred by unsealed escarpments of perpetual ice," extending farther than eye or telescope can penetrate, and becoming lost in gloom and darkness. Some hold that the tundra of ice and snow stretches forever eternally.

Rekt. John Cena and Chuck Norris know what's over the Ice Wall.

So why has no flat earther hired a plane flown at 30,000 feet got as far they can get before having to turn around? at least they could confirm a minimum distance which the earth would stretch beyond the wall?

#1 it's illegal
#2 some have tried, and been shot down; others, simply vanished.

What are you talking about?
What law prohibits flying over Antarctica?
Who has tried and been shot down? By whom, the NASA guards or the penguins?
Also, Lovecraft wrote fiction as in made-up, not true, imagined and not real!

What they fail to mention is that Ross went back the next season and found land with volcanoes, named the two biggest after his ships (Erebus & Terror).
Just to be clear, you are all terrific, but everything you say is exactly what a moron would say.

That should keep these FEers too scared to go near that resort at the South Pole!

Can't have them flooding that resort at -90° 0°, reserve it for those that can appreciate it!

Quote
High on the plateau, at the South Pole, however, the average wind speed is typically less than 14 km per hour, with the peak winds rarely over 40 km per hour.
At times it can be clear, sunny and very chilly! As in the picture on the right of tourists at the South Pole.

You points 1 and 2 have been verified because...? Oh your great grand uncle's next door neighbor's boyfriend, knew a guy who's second cousin's great great great aunt's fourth husband heard a unmanned guy on his deathbed say he was killed for attempting to fly there.

I dont think the LEGALLITY of it matters to anyone!  (if Flat Earth is true, then obviously one would be going AGAINIST the "powers that be", and therefore, any actions to prove them wrong would be an illegal act). Hence, being illegal is not at all the issue.

being shot down or vanished is the reason why a DRONE AIRPLANE is PERFECT for this experiment.

and Money is NOT the issue (as i am sure there are some wealthy Flat Earthers who are 'game' to fund this sort of project).

Wait a wall of ice 150 feet tall! Wow that's totally impassible. /end sarcasm

I've climbed ice cliffs that are 600 feet tall in Scotland for fun. Nobody's ever heard of ice axes and crampons then?

Unless two FE people saw you do it and have it notarized by the Pope you never did it.
