Flat Earth Theory / Re: Why should anyone believe the earth is flat?
« on: March 10, 2016, 04:20:31 PM »
Ah the smug nature of the rounders comments... Can you feel it?

You guys talk a big game but yet still NONE of you have your own evidence the earth is round.

All any Ball Earth believers do is post links from "science" websites and use that as their evidence.

That is another man's work, not yours.

If round earth is so easy to prove, then  why don't any of you have your own evidence?

The fact that and the way that rounders even attempt to defend round earth tells me a lot about this so called science you all spew.

Most rounders have never even left their own country, state, home town, yet you all are so certain of the shape of the earth.

Rounders go through their entire life believing all they read about science. Never once having an original thought, experiment, or ground breaking discovery.

Space is nothing more than a mathematical theory, never proven, never explored, never conquered by man, ever.

The science you know is nothing more than complicated math to complete a puzzle of illusion for the weak to snack on.

Jokes on you. Go back to your History Channel and Discovery Channel for your daily brainwashing. Then, please, come back and "educate" the less fortunate and under studied some more...

"Your" Wiki claims that:

That was a lot of words directed at someone who isn't a flat earther. Nor am I a round earther.

I simply believe what I can and have observed.

What I know for a fact however, is that every single last drop of so called astronomy is an illusion of mathematics conjured up by highly paid mathematicians. Nothing more.

And where the math has gaps, more math is conjured up. When more gaps are to be filled, names are given to the unknown.

Black Holes, Dark Matter, Gravitational Waves.....

Pencil on paper doesn't prove anything at all. FE or RE.

IMHO if it happens as predicted it is a very good validation of the RE model.

No.

When you yourself sits (for however long needed) in a candle lit room with nothing more than a window, telescope, pencil, and paper and YOU can predict when this will occur, then that will be validation.

Until then, you and every other RE'er are riding on the coattails of other men and THEIR math.

Realistic explanation of LIGO's billion dollar discovery.

1 Billion bucks to "hear" two black holes, "never proven to exist" crash into each over 1.2 billion light years away...

And didn't I read somewhere this LIGO scam involved some mirrors hanging on a string? High-tech stuff right there!

And to think people go to bed hungry anywhere in this entire world.

Flat Earth Community / Re: Reversal of Burden of Proof
« on: February 27, 2016, 12:28:31 AM »

That burden of proof has been satisifed many, many times over.  A visit to any university geodesy department can provide it in droves.

But where is YOUR proof?

Without citing another person's work, without citing anyone else's experiments, without linking to any source.....

We want to see your personal proof the earth is round?

I have to ask a question though...

In your mind what is real and what is false? Where do you draw the line?

Is every single book that is published in the non-fiction section true? How do know? And where do you personally draw the line? Where do you start and stop believing something?

Do politicians lie? Do they all lie? Which ones do and which ones don't? Has a family member told you a lie? What about the lies you were never aware of?

Have you ever lied and fooled other people? Did you go back and tell every single person you've ever lied to the truth? No. So that means they have gone on believing your lie, and are none the wiser....

What makes YOU so wise that YOU know a lie from the truth???

Just how much have you been lied to by even your close personal friends and family members? And just how much have you lied in your life?

And you think rich powerful men aren't capable of huge worldly lies???

P.S.  Have you ever pondered the possibility that some people you lied to in your life knew it, but "let you slide" without confronting you?

Point is, not all lies go unnoticed by everyone.

Why is it that instead of trying to find modern findings and experiments to try to explain the earth is flat, you get quotes from "scientists" that lived in the 1800s. How does this make sense? They had no evidence to back their beliefs, they just speculated and did not do anything to prove it.

Can you post a reply by a user on these forums that quoted a scientist from the 1800's, and one of which did no experiments?

Flat Earth Theory / NASA Finally Tells The Truth
« on: February 09, 2016, 01:43:01 AM »
Documented  9th of Sep, 2015.

NASA has released a flat earth model of their own:

Source:

https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/details.cgi?aid=4324

Perhaps we can learn something from this?

I have often thought about the idea of a flat earth disk that turns and tilts as would a vinyl record or say a coin spins down to rest like this:

Obviously not a "fast" as a coin, in relation to size that is...

Has anyone else pondered the notion that the disk may have a wobble to it? However "slight" or "significant" the wobble may be.

Edit: Date of article changed to accurately reflect publish date.

The rabbit hole gets deeper

"How do I know the tape is accurate?"

You simply cannot determine all this youself.

No one person in their whole lifetime can possible do all the measurements and develop all the things we take fo granted!

That is why I mentioned that perhaps a new measuring devise(s) needs to be invented.

And of course 1 person couldn't do all the world's measuring in a life time, nor could a group of people that make up a small society.

As I said, perhaps that will take some time. Perhaps the society will never "prove" to the general public the earth is flat.

You've continued to ask for a scale map that proves the earth is flat. However you are not considering the following:

Prominent members of the TFES openly and freely admit they are not certain what the model for flat earth is or should be.

If they answered every question about the flat earth map with "I don't know", I'd imagine you wouldn't even be here. It would be a little boring.

That should be very clear to you if you take an honest and open-minded approach to reviewing the information provided.

The only people here that claim to know anything absolutely definitive about the shape of the earth are the RE'ers.

And those same people only know what they have been taught by others. You have never done ANY of the things that you ask FE'ers to do.

You simply point to your school books as if anyone here has not learned the same material. Sorry, thats not proof either.

10
why not just refute my arguments.

You mean refute this:

Quote
I trust that the distances on maps are reasonably accurate

I cannot refute a statement like that. You trust something, I cannot say otherwise.

I didn't see any other sentences to refute as they were just opinionated comments like the one above.

If you would point to one of your comments you'd like refuted, please post it again.

"We do not have a planned strategy or architecture with sufficient detail," said Tom Young, the former director of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.

He testified with those comments. We can only go by the source. I imagine it was filmed?

I will have a look and see if I can find it. Or at least documented from a more official source

time

Time... I am still and will be digging into that rabbit hole for a long time...

Clocks go out of synchronization all the time...

Time lol, its an interesting concept, abused and taken granted for. To think for yourself and contemplate the earth we all dwell and time herein, is what our brains were designed to do. It's all we have to do once you strip away all that has been forced up on us.

I personally believe that all mankind needs to live harmoniously is the sun and moon. That's my ideal time "clock".

Instead we've taken time and use it to drop bombs on each other.

We abuse our time even to the degree of sitting in traffic for an hour a day x 5 days a week x 52 weeks. Over 50 years that's equivalent to 541 days.

541 days on average sitting in traffic.

"They" always tell "you" what time it is.

I could go on, but who's got the time?

Here is a "video" compiled by ESA.

"a unique model of the ‘geoid’ – the surface of an ideal global ocean at rest."

Again, I find the flat earth model more plausible...

From my understanding GPS uses the Earth Gravitational Model 2008 (EGM2008) to find "sea level". Thus this represents the shape of the earth.

"The WGS 84 constants used to define the reference ellipsoid, and the associated normal gravity field, to which the geoid undulations are referenced are:
a=6378137.00 m (semi-major axis of WGS 84 ellipsoid)
f=1/298.257223563 (flattening of WGS 84 ellipsoid)
GM=3.986004418 x 1014 m3s-2 (Product of the Earth's mass and the Gravitational Constant)
ω=7292115 x 10-11 radians/sec (Earth's angular velocity)

Here is a direct quote from ESA :

"This will result in a unique model of the ‘geoid’ – the surface of an ideal global ocean at rest."

And to address some of the other questions...

You guys seemed to be firing off in the wrong direction from what I was asking.

Some of my questions were actually rhetorical.

So I will ask just this question:

Have you ever taken a tape measure and measured a mile  (or kilometer) on the earths surface?

If not, how do you know your car and GPS is accurate in measuring how far you travelled?

Over land, slight deviations in measurements may not add up to be a substantial error to you, but over vast oceans, slight deviations have taken many ships to the bottom of the ocean, even still today.

It would only make sense to me that one would need to develope a new measuring device(s) to "prove" anything.

You RE'ers are pouncing as if I'm defending the flat earth model.

I'm not. I'm trying to let you know that nothing is definative. Nor does this Society claim it to be. Nor should you. It's foolish.

You are demanding that the presented flat earth model(s) make sense to you and your measurments.

Problem is, those are not "your" measurments. Those measurements that you know, have been collectively agreed on by "science", however you have never made your own calculations.

You are expecting FE researchers to appease your inquiries without considering that entire new methods will need to be established.

And if it took 2,000 years to get to RE, it may take as long or longer to get to FE.

The ticket price would be $260,000.

I want my refund then...

Taxpayers have been paying into the system and funding NASA since day one and all we get are arguably a handful of questionable images.

Then, we wait for more than 50 years and still no oppurtunity to visit space.

Space X and Virgin mean nothing. Until they can even claim to be sending paying passengers, I don't find them relevant to the discussion of space travel by the general public.

What has NASA even given us for all this embezzled money?

Weather forecasts? Solar flare warnings?

SOLAR FLARE WARNINGS:

Isn't it strange that NASA traveled to the moon and back several times, explored far reaches of space, launched hundreds of satellites...

All of this WITHOUT having even an understanding what impacts solar flares would have.

Now, today, we have a supposed multi billion dollar satellite to give us an early warning of approaching flares.

What have we ever done with this early warning system, and what did we ever do before it came along?

Please don't try to answer that with "major disruptions in our communications infrastructure". My communications have never been disrupted, nor have yours.

WEATHER FORECASTS:

Don't even get me started. My business is ever dependant upon weather.

I only look at NWS.gov for the forecasts. Not the local news... Because that is their official source anyways.

The expected highs and lows are continually off. The chance for precipitation is always off. The radar system is manipulated.

We don't have accurate weather forecasts at all. Period.

I have literally a 100 times in the past 10 years seen it pouring down rain and not a single blip be on the radar.

And I've seen the radar lit up, yet no precipitation falling.

Yes I know the difference between radar and supposed satellite imagery.

We are given a 30 day forecast, when they can't even get tomorrow's weather correct.

I have to study previous weather patterns and predict what I think will happen. I also rely on the notes section, where amateur meteorologist post their version of the forecast. I find those to be substantially more accurate and undeniably more informative.

Remind me again what the general public is getting for all this money? The world's most comfortable mattress?

15
Here is what's currently accepted by the science community with regards to the shape of the earth.

I find the flat earth model more plausible.

I can not personally attest to the measurments of the land masses because I have never measured an entire continent.

Nor have I ever calibrated my own measuring device to see if it is "accurate".

Which brings me to this point. When measuring the earth, what devices and  calibrations should we be using?

Are planes really traveling the speed that they suggest? Are cars really travelling the speed that they suggest?

What exactly is a mile? Have you taken a tape measure and accurately measured a mile out on the earth surface?

Does the clock in a car act exactly the same as the clock in a plane?

Flat Earth Theory / NASA's Journey to Mars...

"NASA is developing the capabilities needed to send humans to an asteroid by 2025 and Mars in the 2030s"

Source: https://www.nasa.gov/content/nasas-journey-to-mars

Question:

When is the general public going to get to go?

Can we at least just go to lower earth orbit?

They did it in 1962. 54 YEARS AGO.

I'll take the tin can ride. Seems pretty easy... Just climb on in and enjoy the ride!

500 Billion Dollars spent on NASA and we can't get a little taste?

It's been over 50 years! I can't imagine how long the line of people who would take the risk in the tin can would be.

We should be going for free. We paid for it.

Yet it's explained away by "safety"...

I submit nearly everyone here would take that chance, given its even a possibility.

Flat Earth Theory / Re: New to flat Earth theory

I found out that as soon as start asking certain question, like "why would the elite make all of this up?", members seem to ignore my questions, which seems to me that you only want to answer questions that does not outright disprove your theory.

That question has been answered countless times as it has been asked countless times.

Your specific question may not have been answered here in this thread, but if you did a search on this forum, you'd see that question has been asked and answered multiple times.

Now, those answers may not be good enough for you. But that question has definitely been answered.

If you did a search on Google, you'd find many other answers to this question also.

Furthermore, you are asking a question that only the "elite" would know. Perhaps you should ask them...

It's impossible to know what or how the "elite" think and what thier motives are. We can only speculate.

And from what I have seen, anytime that question is answered, the RE'er asking always replies with, "yea but".

So if no hypothetical answer is good enough, then why even ask?

So, when you decide to ask that again, just insert an answer you want, and reply to yourself, "yea but".

It will save everyone some time.

Here's an example:

Why would NASA faked space travel? :

"Because a purple monster in the sky has gobbled up all the space craft that attempted to leave earth. Once NASA figured out what was happening, they decided to fake space for the safety of the general public."

Point is, you are going to find any answer given to be ridiculous, so why even ask?

It's a loaded question,  And with no intention of even contemplating the answers given.

So, let's see if we can sum up this conversation so far...

" You immediately latch onto the pictures point and make a claim that doesn't even fit that loch ness and nonsense must be true then."

No. Incorrect. I never was in any conversation about the Loch Ness monster. You are wrong. Reread the thread before you quote me please.

"but you show a lack of understanding about science and the scientific method."

Ok I'm learning how to be more scientific by your standards.

I've been practicing all day. Here you go.

You got to realize that there are 5 Billion earth like planet's in the viewable solar system. So therefore the earth is flat. "Science".

Oh and there is this stuff in space, we call it space dust. And when space dust collides it forms galaxies! "More Science".

But wait kids, there's more! There are these things in space we call Black Holes! You know, its a hole, and its black! They suck things in! And all those things disappear!

Still can't get the public into space, still no life forms found. But there's hope! We found some water on Mars! We will send astronauts to Mars before the taxpayers that made it possible gets to even go to supposed lower earth orbit. "Science".

How are my science teaching skills coming along?

Flat Earth Community / Re: How do we know the Earth is spherical?

You wanting to put stress on a number that you want to not be true still does nothing for any argument you are trying to make.

No. I am putting stress on:

SAME REGION..

I've been very clear about that.

Again, you can try to teach me about things such as comets, but sorry I was taught that when I was around 4 years old.

20
Flat Earth Community / Re: How do we know the Earth is spherical?
« on: February 04, 2016, 01:49:56 PM »

Reading the article, it's very clear that they deliberately looked at the same region twice in order to compare two different observation techniques. I'm not sure why you would think there's a problem with that.

How is this research nonsense? I'd agree that the resulting figures are not facts - they are estimates based, no doubt, on many assumptions. But the article gives no reason to question the basis of the techniques nor the earnestness of the investigation. To call it nonsense is unjustified.

SAME REGION.. That's the keyword.

It doesn't matter if they pointed their telescopes 1 Billion times into THE SAME REGION.

I pointed mine into the same region more than 8 times last night. Does that give me right to say there are 40 Billion trillion stars in our viewable universe?

Even more so, does that give me the right to spread that statement as fact?

While it might be fine that you are including the word estimate, the original person I was quoting, whom was attempting to "school" me, DID NOT.
