Flat Earth Community / Re: Gyroscopes

It seems that gyroscopes should be studied more.

I don't quite know this guy's point.
I'll answer these in detail later, but aircraft AI gyros do NOT do "prove flat earth"! All they do is give a short term (10 minute or so vertical reference). They have a built in mechanism to gradually reset themselves to this.

One the other hand, just look up how marine Gyro-compasses work. These rely on the rotating earth to set themselves to true north and not magnetic north.

But, unless you like lots of egg on you face, don't try pushing gyros as "proof of flat earth". Small mechanical gyros (as in aircraft) simply do not have the long term stability to do this.
It seems if you had one running on your table for an hour it would show the earths' movement of 15degrees. Why wouldn't it?

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Water finding it's own level
« on: February 11, 2016, 02:21:14 AM »
Bodies of water have always been flat and forever will remain. There are photos on this and the other site that show things that would be impossible if the earth was round.

Somebody already did the experiiment, I think on the other website. They screwed it up though.

BEHOLD! THE SOUTH POLE! ITS SO COLD AND HOSTILE YOU CAN WEAR SHORTS!

Almost all RE'rs repeat this same thing over and over...

Yet the edvidence clearly shows its not hostile at all!

Context for that photo: http://jeffreydonenfeld.com/blog/2013/01/frequently-asked-questions-about-life-at-the-amundsen-scott-south-pole-station-antarctica/  Clearly, a LOT of snow everywhere, lots of parkas and mittens.  Just because some young and athletic types chose to dash out into the cold for a photo, does not prove the environment isn't hostile.  Watch any outdoor-stadium NFL game on TV , you'll see an obligatory shot of some super-fan(s) with no shirt and painted chest.  Doesn't mean it's not wicked cold there, just that some individuals can stand it.
I guess they are all holding their breath then.

I wonder why she would think anything is flat?

She reminds of an English valley girl, with the pastey white skin and all.

Thork, I listened to his rant on youtube. He sounds rather pycho, he will collect 1.2 billion, then take a fleet of giant snow cats to antarctica and find Atlantis or new lands. What do you think his deal is? Did he ever work for NASA as he claims?

I am an amateur sailer.  I have made many Atlantic crossings.  The way we cross the Atlantic is exactly the same from a Globe vs Flat Earth map.  I have an idea though.  I would be willing to save money for a real documented expedition.  If we take the Flat Earth map...I should be able to set sail from the West Coast USA....take a straight West line....and hit Antarctica (on the flat map).

If Im able to keep the same heading, and NOT hit Antarctica, but instead hit China or SE Asia....then wouldn't that prove the Earth is a ball ?  Or better yet..I could charter a boat from Chile, and see if I can go around Antarctica that way into the North Pole.  Has nobody ever done this before >???
If you head west on a compass setting, you would be traveling an arc route. You wouldn't go south.

I doubt garlic would cure any form of cancer, but it may help a little in preventing you from getting it in the first place.
Probably not that either, no.

That is some top-quality refutation and evidence...
Indeed. It's probable that it won't, but it might.

Do you have any evidence to support your outlandish claim?
Understand the meaning of probabilities. The claim was that garlic is a cure. Those claims need evidence. Since I didn't raise those claims, I don't need to supply anything
If mugsy eats garlic potatoe chip and doesn't have cancer, I'd say the claim is undeniable.

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Bishop Experiment Debate
« on: February 03, 2016, 01:21:01 PM »
This guys test is fundamentally wrong.

Why is he not using a laser and pointing it towards the target?

Beyond where is the other test with a much longer distance of 13.25 miles? Why did he never put it up?
He is not pointing the laser at the target miles away because the laser beam diffuses over long distances. They did try it and the beam was not a beam by the time it went through the long distance.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Boards and threads do have post and view counters, they're just not present on mobile view in order to save horizontal space.
I am almost always on my phone, so I don't see the counters.

They seem to have been removed from the new theme. Can they be added to the forum once again?

Flat Earth Community / Re: Suggestion for experiment: Lake Pontchartrain

Anyone?

I'm looking for faults in the experiment.
If it can't be faulted then the FES should set about organising the experiment.
It is possibly the Holy Grail the society is looking for
Hey dude, go do the experiment and let us know how it turns out. In my experience laser beams diffuse on long distances. Jeranism onyoutube has a laser experment over water. Look at that before you waste your time.

How is it possible to orchestrate this 'round earth lie' for so many years among so many different stakeholders with no information leaks whatsoever?

I guess your answer is "That's very easy!", so just let this question for other people to reflect on.
There are information leaks, just because you disregard them doesn't mean they are not there.

If the earth were flat, explain mining of minerals and how thick is the disk and what would happen if you were to go to the otherside?
The deepest hole ever drilled is like 7 miles deep. I'd say the earth is at least 7 miles deep.

m8 I'd bet the rest of the money I earn in my life that he won't. I actually, sincerely told my conspiracy theorist brother in law I'd give him every dime I make from now 'til I die if Obama gets a third term. He very firmly believed he would, but wasn't willing to bet anything.
Have you told your brother inlaw that the earth s flat?
