I need some help with this one.
At mid day if I aim the infrared thermometer gun at the Sun it Max’s out at 850F. Aiming 1” to the north, south, east,or west and the temp drops to 80F-100F. Another 1” and it drops to about 30F. Another 1” and the gun hits its low limits of -30F.
Here’s my question. About 9:00a.m. I will get a reading of 550F-600F. But why do I have to aim the temp gun 3-4” lower than where the Sun is. I have to aim the infrared gun where the Sun was at 7:30a.m.
Is the Sun we see a reflection off of something like the Dome and the real location of the Sun is further back and at a higher altitude?
It would make sense why in the morning the time it takes the Sun at Sunrise till it gets to you is shorter than when the sunsets and is moving away from you.
