Flat Earth Theory / Re: Earth Not A Globe inquiries

Second Edition as in a revision of the original, or part 2?

Definitely a lot easier to read than the scanned format.

Since this isn't specific to FE questions but rather ENaG, I am moving to FED. This will allow for more in-depth discussion to take place that really isn't suited for Q&A.

Fair enough. I was curious which one to post under. Thank you junker.

Flat Earth Theory / Earth Not A Globe inquiries
« on: December 12, 2017, 04:51:14 PM »
Since Tom and others insist on REers reading it, I am currently reading Earth Not A Globe via the "Library" link.

I must say, I am quite intrigued with the whole thing, given it was written in the 19th century.

I am sure I will have a few questions that arise from reading it, but one popped up for me on page labeled 53.

Rowbotham proposes that one could veritably prove a uni-polar flat earth map by measuring one degree longitude along the 45th parallel south. He goes on to assume that the result would be 20 miles longer than that of one degree longitude along the 45th parallel north. Has anyone done this "experiment" to prove/disprove this notion? I'm sure given the technology we have, it has easily been done, but given that all "modern" longitude measurements are done using global coordinates, this experiment would need to be performed "old school" to satisfy all parties. (Though, honestly, I haven't done any thorough research to find out.)

More to come...

Flat Earth Theory / Re: FET's Credit Score
« on: December 11, 2017, 11:34:12 PM »
At least when I jump out of a plane my stomach tells me I am moving not the earth rising up to meet me.....empirical!

Though, it could be explained by the "mysterious" UA causing air pressure to act against your body, causing uneasiness.

Further, "empirical" evidence is quite sub-standard to proper "scientific" evidence.

One cannot easily empirically disprove the following statement:

All ravens are black, therefore all non-black things are not ravens.
(FYI Albino ravens exist ("scientifically"))

I’d also suggest looking up what an analogy is and what a false equivalence is.

Watcha Junker

in what way do you not get the analogy here? Its a pretty awesome one.

 FE needs:

UA, shadow objects, long term world wide conspiracy, new cosmology, new laws of perspective, celestial gravitation to name but a few

Where is the proof of these?

There is none, therefore FE is in debt of proof. Research RE and you'll see a lot of proof for a globe earth. No debt.

Don't forget a working map, along with a way to reference points of the plane Earth without using round Earth coordinates.

On the other hand, RE does not provide a solid answer for gravity... anything else?

The majority of a consumer credit score (in the US) is based on revolving debt to credit ratio.

I’d also suggest looking up what an analogy is and what a false equivalence is.

(Is knowing all the types of fallacies a prerequisite for membership to TFES?)

The argument may not be an exact analogy, but it does present a scoring system of sorts.

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Gravity, and the sun and moon
« on: December 11, 2017, 09:36:19 PM »
How does the sun only light up a circle from poll to almost south pole then cover half the earth half a qourte of a year later then cover most of the earth including all after Antarctica a quarter of a year later then cover half of the earth finally finishing that year with only covering it's circle?

The government has lied about many things, such as the moon landing and the existence of the "moon". Not only was 9/11 planned to boost the US economy, but the government is lying to protect us from aliens. Various experiments are being conducted in area 51 as we speak. It's only a matter of time until they get to us.

In fact, the government wants the aliens to come to us in order to experiment on them. If the Earth is round, it would be impossible for the aliens to land, as their spaceship would fly off. But since the Aliens know the Earth is flat, they can land. Once they do, our military immediately seizes them.

God bless America.

What is your proof of these "lies"?

I do apologize junker. It's a clickable link.

The TL;DR version:
Using gravity and Earth's rotation, they utilize the forces to use the minimal amount of fuel to achieve orbit.

Flat Earth Theory / Re: How does the flat earth theory explain the moon?
« on: November 29, 2017, 12:25:04 AM »

The Moon is not flat, nor is it round, there is in fact no moon at all. What you're seeing is an incredibly large projection of what you think to be a moon, cast by scientists to try and distract the common populace from the truth of the Earth. Do not be mislead by these other people, have faith in God and put all your trust in the bible, and you will live a life true to yourself. Amen
I am curious where the moon is projected from. Is the projector here on Earth or in space orbiting the Earth?

The 'moon' is projected, because Satan wills it to be. Asking how he does this, is like asking how God's power reaches all through the four corners of the Earth, it is just so. Any whose mind and attention is drawn to the 'moon' too long are being subjected to Satans grasp, and should instead turn their attention to faith in God. Amen

Flat Earth Theory / Re: New here. How do you explain this?

What an awesome opportunity to get murdered in cold blood, as previous whistleblowers have. Please, I know you're trying to be generous, but you can take all the glory on that one.

I am with Pete on this one.  Ask anyone who went to jail under Obama how that whistle blower program worked out.

Who?

Clearly Columbus proved to a wide-eyed world that had up until that moment in history believed the Earth was flat that it's actually round, I mean, we all learned that in school right so it must be true.

Columbus didn't believe the Earth was round, he believed it to be pear shaped while the rest of the world believed the Earth to be round.

Flat Earth Theory / Distance to the moon
« on: November 22, 2017, 11:08:16 PM »
I understand that FE calculated the distance to the sun via bastardizing Eratosthenes's experiment. How was the distance to the moon calculated in the FE model? How far away is the moon in FET?

Flat Earth Theory / Re: What happens when the ice wall melts?
« on: November 22, 2017, 10:24:15 PM »
I do believe the FE view of the ice wall is that it is roughly 150 ft tall and infinitely thick. Under the ice is actual rocks, but the lack of sunlight beyond the ice wall allows for an infinite plane of ice/rocks.

The problem with "lack of sunlight" beyond the ice wall is that it would get colder and colder the further away from the sun you went.

At some point it would be cold enough to turn the air into a liquid - then to freeze it solid.

But if the air froze solid - there would be a vacuum above it - into which air from the warmer regions would rush.    It too would freeze.    Within no much time, there would be supersonic winds rushing out over the ice wall - and within a very short time (days - not years) the air where we're living would all be gone.  With no air pressure, the oceans would start to boil - and the water vapor would also rush out over the ice wall and freeze.    Pretty soon, all life on Earth would be dead - there would be no air or water of any kind.

Since this CLEARLY hasn't happened - we must presume that the ice-wall malarky is nonsense.   A true flat Earth would need 100 mile high walls around the edges to contain the atmosphere.
But if the air is held in place via the firmament, it's possible.

I don't think they claim infinite thickness. That would cause a problem with universal acceleration requiring infinite energy.

But not the effects of gravity on an infinite plane.

And what, pray tell, are your intentions here: to argue a point, gain insight into the FET, or convert FEers to the RE way of thinking?

The wiki paints this as the quote that motivated the illusion of space travel. All we have to do is trick the world we went to space and obtain that control.
