The long-awaited TV show has finally arrived! Who saw the first episode? I thought it was great. It's all moody and stylish and colorful and whatnot. Great casting, too. Ian McShane especially is just a perfect fit for Mr. Wednesday, and I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that they originally offered the role (http://io9.gizmodo.com/we-should-all-thank-nicolas-cage-for-turning-down-a-par-1788580748) to Nicolas Cage. How would that have worked? Like...how?
Also, if you haven't read the book, you should.

If Orlando Jones keeps up what he did last week as Mr Nancy, it could be Emmy-worthy stuff. The performances have been excellent all around but that scene on the slave ship really stands out. I also really enjoyed Gillian Anderson as Media.
It's been terrific so far, can't wait to see where it goes.

American Gods episodes 1-5
I love it. Neil Gaiman never disappoints.
Ian McShane steals the show, IMO. I just love that man.
Yay, roosroos joined in!
Also, Crispin Glover is great.

I feel like the ending was a little cringey, in part because it was so widely predicted it would end with the "reveal" of Wednesday being Odin. It's also a shame in that it seems to go against the show's apparent lack of worry (http://io9.gizmodo.com/american-gods-is-spoiler-proof-television-1794754495) about spoilers or big reveals.
