What car do you drive? Which car are you thinking about for your next purchase? And, what's your dream car?
I have a 2004 Passat Wagon. Although, I'd have a Golf R if I could afford it. That little car packs a huge punch with its little four cylinder turbo. It can go toe to toe with Mustangs and other American muscle cars apparently. Beyond that, I'd be quite ecstatic to have an Audi R8. I've also taken an enormous liking to the BMW i3.
As you can tell, I'm heavily biased towards German cars because the sense of quality you get from them, inside and out, is immediate and genuine. Japanese cars seem to be efficient in terms of cost and gas, but are glaringly chintzy. The only good thing that can be said for American cars is that the research and development that went into hundreds of sub-par vehicles has led to the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and the Z06; both are formidable, but they're the only American cars that are. And both of them still fall slightly short of their European counterparts.

I have a 2001 ford focus zx3 hatchback and a 2004 Toyota Prius with 310,000+ miles on it. (Exact number impossible to know due to design flaw in the odometer)
My next purchase will be whatever I can afford. But I'll probably go with a ford focus if I can. Love that car.
My dream car is the Chevy volt. The Teela is second though only because I may need the gas engine more regularly next year. Not that I'll be able to buy one or even charge it but still, dreams.

Fuck yeah German cars. Andrew has good taste in automobiles.
I drive a 2012 Polo, with the same 1.2-litre turbocharged engine as the entry-level Golf from that year, and it's loads of fun to drive. I can only imagine how much power the Golf R pulls (I've never driven anything approaching it), though for my next car, I'd be looking to buy a diesel (most likely, either another Polo or a Golf). From what I know about it, diesel is cheaper, cleaner, safer and better for the environment (in the case of biodiesel) than petrol.

Nissan Primera from 2001 or something. Cars is a boring subject.

Last week I was driving a 2005 Beetle, next week I will be driving a 2015 Mini Cooper.

I drive a Kia Rio, some year. I don't know...

The VW hatchbacks are amazeballs and I'm kind of jelly you have one.

Used to drive a Miata. Switched over to a Ninja 250 about a year ago. No regrets.
Dream car would be a Lotus Elise, or supercharged Exige. Probably still buy one later in life when I can afford it. I'd prefer to ride, and I'd love to own an 899 Panigale. But they're bloody expensive.

You're a boring subject.

I drive a BMW roadster for normal use. I have a Jeep Liberty when the weather gets nasty. I gave my ex my Ranger, but I still have the mini-van, and I share the Tiburon with the nurse.

I also very much like custom jeeps. Too bad I'm poor.

2000 Acura TL, it's old but I love it. 6 cylinder get about 25-26 mpg.

Jeeps are terrible.

Jeeps are terrible.
They are. But they look awesome, and in the end, that's all I really care about. So what if the transmission catches fire, I'll just have some awesome burn scars. Or be dead. A little of both maybe.

You can't be "a little dead".

Don't tell me what I can't do, nerd.
Also in this thread I meant 2015 Tacoma. It is the 2015 ones I like, the 2016 ones are shit.

I'd like a newer 4 cyl equipped car with a manual transmission for driving to work, and also a 98-02 Trans-am for fun (or maybe commuting too since they get ok mileage)

Hold your phone horizontal instead of vertical. I can't see the front.

I cropped it, so you can't see the license plate.

In the time since I posted this I got a used Civic for cost reasons. I just sold it because it was the most boring car I've ever had. All the little interior plastic doohickeys kept breaking off. Next year, I'll most likely be getting one of these before the climate gestapos ban gas cars:

Imagine wasting money on the virgin kraut-mobile instead of the chad master race nip-mobile.

I recently bought a used SUV and for 2 years of use and 17,000km on the tires, it’s the best $18-20k I’ve saved myself. I don’t think I’ll buy a new car again. Between the trade in on my previous car and having a bit saved up, we put enough down that the financing rate wasn’t even much different than for a new vehicle, and it didn’t depreciate by 30% the second I took it off the lot.
It did kinda suck not being able to peel off the plastic protective covering, get that new car smell and put the first scratches on it, but 🤷🏼♂️

Maybe Japanese cars become decent at the Avalon or Maxima tiers, but every model below that that I've driven has felt like driving a plastic toy.

I'm slightly less poor than I was then so now I have a jeep truck.

Not that anyone cares but:
2014 MINI Cooper S Roadster. Blast to drive. Told my wife I'd be buried in it. That is unless I somehow become able to afford a Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.
Even though I can ride top down as long as it's not raining, I prefer the over 40F weather when I can swap to the 2014 Heritage Softail Classic.
I guess the , non-911, dream car would be a vintage Shelby Cobra. Have loved that car ever since watching The Gumball Rally as a kid.
