Well, I don't know anything about smartphones, so I haven't actually picked one out yet, and I'm not sure wich one I should get.
A friend has recommended the OnePlus T3, saying the OS is less bloated than on Android phones by most other manufacturers. Any thoughts on this?
I welcome recommendations, but know that I have no intention on giving money to Apple or Microsoft.

I'm happy with my HTC.
I mean, the gsensor gave me issues but that's from being dropped.

I'm still quite happy with the OnePlus brand. I've owned a OnePlus One, I currently have a OnePlus 2, and my girlfriend has a OnePlus 3. Would thoroughly recommend if you're not looking to spend too much money but you'd still like a reasonably good phone. If money is not an immediate concern, you can easily get something with a better build quality.
[Disclaimer: I haven't seen the 3T in action, just the 3. I'm not sure if the improvement is big enough to substantiate an increase in price.]

I'd be looking into phones with alternative Linux-based operating systems, like Tizen and SailfishOS. Android has been getting progressively worse with each new device I've owned, and I just don't think it's worth the money at this point.
Tizen seems to be the most actively developed alternative at the moment, with some of the more recent Samsung devices running it, and it has the bonus of using glibc, so is likely to be much closer to a "standard" Linux distribution than Android. This is handy if you want to be able to SSH into your phone, for instance -- you can do that on Android, but it's annoying to set up and of questionable usefulness without a proper Unix userland.

Don't get the one that catches on fire when it is charging, lol.
