Flat Earth Theory / Re: New to the movement and have a few Qs
« on: November 22, 2017, 08:25:01 PM »
I just read "the conspiracy". I must say, it seems like an awful lot of work to accomplish nothing

From the Wiki:
Quote
Control of space means control of the world. From space, the masters of infinity would have the power to control the earth's weather, to cause drought and flood, to change the tides and raise the levels of the sea, to divert the gulf stream and change temperate climates to frigid. There is something more important than the ultimate weapon. And that's the ultimate position. The position of total control over the Earth that lies somewhere in outer space.
—Lyndon B. Johnson, Statement on Status of Nation's Defense and Race for Space, January 7, 1958

Thanks! Last question and I'll start surfing around, how far away is the wall? I mean has anyone tried to travel to it?
The Ice Wall is literally Antarctica.

To any of the below, I tried to WIKI search "why the conspiracy" and nothing came up.

First, at what gain do all these governments, space agencies, etc, receive by saying the earth is sphere? Second, what happens if you walk off the edge of the flat earth? Third, if I travel and keep heading West in a straight line, I eventually end up where I started. If the Earth was flat, wouldn't I fall off? Lastly, we have photographic "evidence" of space and a spherical earth, why don't we have pictures of the edge of the earth?

First: The Conspiracy
Second: It is impossible to do so, as there is a 150ft high wall with a pitch-black land beyond.
Third: Heading "West" refers to a magnetic compass pointing you in that direction, causing you to travel in a circle around the north pole.
Lastly: Images can be faked, therefore no images will be accepted as true evidence.

maybe better help would be to post the link for us new peeps until we get this figured out?

What link is it that you seek? Both the wiki and search feature are functions at the top of the browser page.

I do believe the FE view of the ice wall is that it is roughly 150 ft tall and infinitely thick. Under the ice is actual rocks, but the lack of sunlight beyond the ice wall allows for an infinite plane of ice/rocks.

Please peruse the WIKI and utilize the SEARCH before posting that which has already been posted and answered.

1. What are your favorite scientists/philosophers?
Plato and Pythagoras

2. What are your thoughts about Christopher Columbus and Columbus Day? Is this a day to celebrate brain-washing?

Columbus believed the Earth was a pear.

3. What needs to happen such that everyone will believe the Flat Earth Model? Does there need to be picture proof or perhaps some revelation?
For starters, a map that has merit and correlates to what is naturally observed.

One could use the real-time data provided by flightradar to monitor certain flights as they happen.

Did you try checking the bottom of the article for the source that information comes from?

literally a *youtube* video and the very wikipedia article contradicting your page. No evidence from a valid source stating reasons for the inferences.

The Fox documentary says that the report was not found. The Wikipedia page says [citation needed] next to the assertion someone put in that the report was delivered.

I'm not referencing the *missing* report. I'm referencing the statements that his intentions were to expose NASA's "lies" when he said no such things. He reported on the blatant disregard for safety. Is there reference to his statements of his attempt to undermine NASA? Where is the proof that the KSC "kept employees in the dark"?

Just assume that "dark energy" is what propels the flat disc, and space-time warping (and whatnot) causes gravity.

Why should we assume that?

Assumptions remain until proven false.

So then you are an AI until you proven otherwise?

As the great Descartes said,  je pense, donc je suis

But if your looking for clues that they are all interconected in some way then its not too hard to find, in fact, its right in front of you.

Where? What is the evidence that *all* space agencies are "interconnected?"

Just too many variables that are impossible to control for.

Fair enough. Resolved.

Hey, Junker, I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to call you out on this one. That's ridiculous. Mark calls you out for your clear and obvious double standard and hypocrisy of dishing out your warnings and whatnot on Round Earthers like it's chocolate on Halloween, but the second Mr Bishop comes in with a post that you would OBVIOUSLY flag up if it was a round-earth counterpart and you get called out for suddenly turning a blind eye, and you have the audacity to play innocent with your "I am not sure what you are trying to get at", and immediately throw down the ban hammer to make yourself feel better. He didn't even make a fuss! Just briefly, plainly and quietly made a point that you clearly aren't doing your job in a neutral and unbiased fashion, and you just ban him for almost no reason whatsoever. That's some of the most blatant abuse of moderation perms I have ever seen on a public forum and if that's how you're going to exercise your permissions then you absolutely shouldn't have them. Stop the bias and act from a neutral standpoint if you want to play Mr Justice.
I assume I'll be getting a ban for this, too, since I'm also calling you out. Or will this post finally make you stop and think a little?
Posts like this are poor form. PM the moderator in question and keep this stuff out of the threads please. Things like this derail threads quickly and can be settled in PM outside the public forum.

With the modern technology we have today, could we not set up Wallace's experiment with lasers? It should prove more concrete than "appearing" a certain way.

I can't pretend to be well-read on Special relativity so I'll take your word for it. I'd still appreciate some explanation for the endless, mysterious force causing this constant acceleration of the entire universe before I'm fully convinced though!
As would we all.
I'd also like to fully understand gravity, but it is likewise difficult to empirically deduce what exactly causes it.

Just assume that "dark energy" is what propels the flat disc, and space-time warping (and whatnot) causes gravity.

Maybe the wiki should use some revisions:
Quote
During the start of the Apollo missions former NASA Safety Inspector Thomas Ronald Baron participated in a Congressional Hearing where he complained that NASA was not operating a real safe space program.

He complained about NASA's fraudulent unsafe practices, low quality control, and the practice of keeping every employee in the dark about the big picture{source?}. R. E. Reyes, an engineer in KSC's Preflight Operations Branch, said Baron filed so many negative charges against NASA that, had KSC heeded them all, NASA would not have had a man on the moon until the year 2069.{source?}

Thomas was a real fear that the program could be stopped in its tracks
—Julian Scheer, Former NASA Spokesman {source?}

Baron testified before congress that the Apollo program was such disarray the United States would never make it to the moon {source?}. His claim and his opinions made him the target {source?}.

Then, ironically, Baron himself was stopped in his tracks. Exactly one week after he testified before Congress and only days before his report was set to be released Baron's car was [/s]stocked[/s] hit by a train. Baron, his wife and his step daughter were killed instantly. The incident was deemed by the police to be an accident. Baron's unpublished 500 page Congressional Report detailing the specific deficiencies of the Apollo program was never found.
