ffs Dave

Yes. For the love of fucks.

But seriously, I haven't been paying enough attention to the thread.  Figured it was not serious but i'm far too jaded by reality.

I vote for changing the term "miscarriage" to "died of natural causes." To call it miscarriage is to pretend like they weren't a fully realized human with hopes and dreams and I just think that's sick. We don't say Jane Doe died of miscarriage at the age of 95!  >o<

>_> not sure if serious....

But we can say she dies of a miscarriage if a miscarriage causes internal hemmroging and she dies of blood loss.

They really should have just let him go.
That would probably end in multiple disasters. Jan 6th was mostly peaceful, and it likely wouldn't have stayed that way if Trump was there.

Yep.  Which I think America needs in order to realize how bad things really are.  Because Americans are not good at taking hints.

There's been a lot of news about Trump lately in the ongoing hearings, but the one big story everyone is talking about is Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony. Here's a good article summarizing it:

https://www.vox.com/2022/6/28/23186748/cassidy-hutchinson-january-6-hearing-committee

Not shocking.  Trump is big on doing stupid shit.  They really should have just let him go.  Would have made arresting him for treason much easier.

I take methotrexate to control my Rhumatoid. I was told today I could not be prescribed it any longer as I am viably fertile and it is a medication that can be used for abortion.

I'm sure that's fine, yeah?  Who cares if SOME medications are banned.  There's still freedom... right?  Next y'all will ban Coat Hangers, I bet.

Seriously, this is exactly the same as the damn gun debate.

One side: "We need to stop the senseless killing"
The other side: "If you ban (Guns/Abortions) only criminals will have (Guns/Abortions)!"
One side: "We'll ban everything related to (gun/abortions)"
The other side: "You can't stop it all so its pointless!  Give us OUR FREEDOM!"

Also for a fun statistic, the number one cause of death for pregnant women is homicide. A lot of women don't know they're even pregnant by six weeks (which is the ban limit in TN now). Let's watch those homicides go up when women are forced to carry unwanted pregnancies.
Unremarkably, the perp would face TWO counts of homicide. Are you arguing the charge for the second should be dropped because no human was killed?

Please state the name and birthdates of the humans killed.

Abortion for *lethal* fetal anomalies is now *illegal* in Ohio

I’m a high-risk obstetrician here. I diagnose birth defects

So some point soon I may look someone in the eyes & say that they, against their will, will carry to term, undergo delivery & then have their child die
Makes sense.
Convervatives are big on ensuring they're born, less so if they die after.

2016 not 2020?
Yeah - it was relatively dead around 2020.
Guess he thought he had it in th bag.

Speaking of oil...

https://www.npr.org/2022/06/26/1107265390/refinery-shortage-high-gas-prices-russia

Summary:
Shit sucks.  Russia's invasion, a hurricane, Covid, Biden's transition... all of it is basically helping to hurt oil and gasoline production, which is causing a massive increase.  We've got several refineries that have been damaged or shut down during or prior to Covid.  Which didn't help and with Russia's invasion and the subsequent oil embargo, supply is low for both oil and gasoline.  Demand is high.

Biden is trying to get oil companies to do more, drill more but, well... this isn't a communist country.  Only so much Biden can do.  And since the energy transition is being worked on, there isn't alot of interest to build new refineries.  (last one was built in the 70s fyi)

It would seem that many of the pro-Trump YT accounts from 2016 are preparing to resurface. Here's one example:

Call me cynical, but I don't think these are just Regular People™ who happen to love Trump. I wonder what's in store for us.

2016 not 2020?
Wonder why.  Russia?
Or maybe Trump swapped marketing companies in 2020 and is going back to 2016 one.

Practically speaking this doesn't do as much as it seems.  About 60% of abortions are done by a pill they can send in the mail.

The next struggle I'm sure will be to monitor people's mail and break into their medicine cabinets.
Which is great but thats illegal and any company sending such pills in those states will be held liable.  And any post office that delivers it could be held accountable as well for aiding an abortion.

It’s good to see how much Americans care about their children.

Well…until they are born, go to school and get mown down in a mass shooting, or grow up and turn out gay or trans.
Or get pregnant early, assuming they survive school.

Politicians saying crazy and outrageous things is a non-issue! If their views aren't popular, then they'll lose, and if their views are popular, then it's democracy in action!

This but unironically. If a 'crazy' politician sees a wide base of support, then you don't just have a 'crazy' politician, you have a 'crazy' population.

Not neccessarily, just one whose too polarized.

The way I see it, the less crazy ones are the majority.  But since they don't primary, the crazies get to pick their candidates.
Now the well meaning, not crazies have a choice: crazy asshole whose in their party... Or the enemy who will destroy all of America.
Lesser of two evils.

Because they are actively seeking to roll back civil rights protections, undermine the democratic process, foster ignorance and widen the gap between the rich and poor even further.  This is how you tear down a society and even worse, millions of people will welcome their new overlords.

You are contradicting yourself. If million of people in Texas are welcoming it then it is democracy and the democratic process.
Unless there's more millions who do not.
Then its a dictatorship.

Yep.
A bunch of women just became murderers.
They already were #Rushy

Ok, let me rephrase:
They are murderers in the eye of the law.

If it wasn’t so scary

Can you explain to us why you are so scared?

Because they are actively seeking to roll back civil rights protections, undermine the democratic process, foster ignorance and widen the gap between the rich and poor even further.  This is how you tear down a society and even worse, millions of people will welcome their new overlords.

Also: Nazis/all dictators.

I know you and the other revolutionary Marxists are pushing very hard, with your gaslighting, and even to the point of unleashing biological weapons on the populace, killing some of your own, to get your way (and you will) but not yet and not without an even more heavy cost.

Does anyone have any idea what he is talking about?
He's saying that the ard working people want to overthrow the rich, fatcat politicians so the things the government owns is owned BY THE PEOPLE and not by the government and we are willing to use gaslighting and unleashing Covid 19 to kill as many as we need to to succeed, but we will not, not without open warfare.
