Flat Earth Community / Re: Questions are met with confusion

The inverse of this argument is saying "if one picture is real, all pictures are real." Do you watch sci-fi movies and think they're real?

Sadly, this line of thought isn't unheard of. From the 'fake ISS' threads:

The movie "Gravity" used wires too

if one is fake, they’re all fake!

Very nice  :D Last picture seems as good as can be. Keep it for when people claim that the Moon gets transparent and they can see stars behind the dark!

I like how you respected the original request of getting both the horizon and Moon terminator in the same shot, horizontally aligned.

No doubt OP would have appreciated it, but I'm not sure how he hoped to make sense of a Moon phase on FE anyway...

Maybe we could have another astrophotography thread somewhere?

All you doing is ignoring the principles of elevation derived from a horizontal plane known as sea level. Earth is not a Ball.

I think you should see how elevation and sea level are determined. It's far more complex than you let on:

Shame, I liked the other version better.

Can we petition to bring it back?

You should consider starting the "Lets Make Excuses and Special Plead for NASA" thread.

I was just trying to clarify my post.

But you're still not answering my question.

A forgery can be very difficult to identify. Once a picture or video is published, there's just no way of telling how it was done for sure. That's how UFOlogists, cryptozoologists, and other truth seekers hold on their photographic evidence for so long.

Authors have sometimes admitted to faking their picture or video, but decades after their release. Even a serious study can fail to debunk with absolute certitude a well made fake. That's just a sad reality.

Here, the forgery seems as easy to prove as merely saying it. The strap moves so there's really water around it. A hand moves in the air so it's really grabbing a cable.

Both don't seem to me like the only explanations for a strap or a hand moving. What's the method to identify those suspicious moves with certitude?

The word "Masked" (as in covered up ) would have been a better choice.

The movie "Gravity" used wires too but they could not be seen, because they were covered up.

I'm not picking on the words. How do you differentiate between masked objects?

That some movies use wires doesn't mean it's the only thing that can be edited out.

This is a short video.  2:30  It’s a live feed of 4 astronauts in ISS.

At 15 seconds an astronauts begins a back flip after someone asked “is this a hoax? are you really in space?”

At 18 seconds midway through the back flip the astronaut behind him reaches up and moves an unseen wire.

As the flip continues the astronaut is moving to the left and the astronaut on the right reaches over at 1:09 and grabs another unseen wire near the waste of the flipper and pulls it towards him. You can see a tug on the pants, but its not where the hand was placed.  Both astronauts are seen coming together because of the grab.

The unseen wires are masked with Hollywood camera tricks.

Also check out the woman’s hair. It’s stiff as a board.

Nasa Hoax Absolute Proof of Harness Wires

How do we know they reach for an unseen wire and not, for example, an unseen teapot?

What reliable method can we use to differentiate between unseen objects?

This kind of post seldom receives any answer. Flat Earthers aren't keen on presenting their facts.

They'd rather wait for someone to criticize it so they can criticize the globe in return. But Flat Earth itself is rarely defended. Nobody's working on improving the model or anything.

So what started this belief? Without attacking anyone, I think boredom, paranoia and being raised Christian are often contributing factors.

This kind of post doesn't get answer because people ask it on a regular basis. A vast majority of the time the post is made by someone who won't ever return to discuss it, so people stopped wasting their time. Also, it is obvious you are incredibly ignorant regarding the model, and seem to have made up some strawman based on watching YouTube videos. Good luck with that.

Well if I'm ignorant, you're welcome to try and define the model more precisely. But I have yet to see you do it. All those threads in the upper fora about the Flat Earth model remain unanswered. Which was my point in the previous message, nobody ever tries.

That isn't what you said at all. If you have nothing to contribute, then refrain from posting in the upper fora. Warned.

That's exactly what I said. Flat Earthers prefer to attack the globe rather than defend FE. Which is exactly what Tom did:

Quote
The main reason I support Flat Earth research is because of the dishonesty of the scientific community.

In this kind of answer, you don't see any argument building trust in the Flat Earth model. Only distrust towards the globe. So I think my contribution to this post was pretty spot on.

Even if you watch the video and debunk it thoroughly, point by point, Earthman isn't going to answer. He'll just reply with another video. Why bother?

12
Awesome! Congrats for the much sharper picture, you can actually see some craters  ;D

And props for actually going out there and taking pictures... That's more than most here do.

The deception in the video is obvious. There is no need for me to narrate and point things out. You don't accept the fact NASA fakes space. So what! I could care less.

No, it's not obvious. What's obvious is that the woman reaches to grab onto something. Everybody can see that.

If you want others to consider this as proof of deception, you're going to need arguments. What is the deception here?

NASA just can't stop screwing up during a ISS live feed. Anyone that has common sense and is not a globie can clearly see NASA is faking ISS.

The movie "Gravity" is more believable than live feeds from ISS.

NASA live feed EPIC FAIL! They cut live feed right as her harness malfunctions!

You're still not answering any question... Instead of linking more videos, why not try to defend the previous ones that have been criticized?

Flat Earth Investigations / Re: Re: Help Me debunk this stupid video

Why do things have to be pointed out to globies?

Alright, what are you pointing out? Where's the harness?

Flat Earth Investigations / Re: Re: Help Me debunk this stupid video

NASA caught faking ISS again with harnesses. Also check out the woman's permed hair.

There's no harness or wire in this video. The guy says it's there but you can't see anything looking remotely like a harness.

First he claims that the wire is at the top left of the screen (right side of the guy who spins), then that it's attached to his waist on the right (his left side). How does that work exactly to lift him from the ground?

If he had a harness, it would be visible at least under his clothes or in his back. But we fully see his clothes and his back when he spins, there's nothing.

Are you suggesting that the woman has a harness in her hair? Or on her necklace?

Like I said, if one NASA video is fake there all fake. In the following ISS video, bubbles are seen again in space. This is from a NASA official video.

I also find it amazing that NASA is advertising on Flat Earth YouTube channels. Please let the ad finish so the Youtuber gets paid from NASA. At least we can get some of our tax dollars back.

GET OUT OF THE POOL NASA! More Space Bubbles

How do you know that these are bubbles? Did you ever try to investigate what else they could be? Or do you just assume they're bubbles because it fits your story?

Oh, my, you don't want those videos included. What are you afraid of? Would you also like if they didn't include this one too?  It's also exposes NASA's lies. Be sure to watch it all so you know how to teach against it.

Grab a cup of coffee, it's about an hour long exposure of lies we all have been taught.

Planet Flat Earth | 2018 Nature Documentary II

So I watched this video, although I'd already watched many from ODD TV. From the get go, a few claims are flat out wrong.

Everybody can check for themselves that:

- The horizon doesn't rise to eye level
- The Sun doesn't shrink near the horizon
- Moonlight isn't colder than its shade
- The 'real stars' through a telescope are just out of focus

As I understand it, the Society doesn't support those lies nor the work of Eric Dubay.

The problem is that those videos repeat the same lies but never answer anything. They just parrot each other by copying and rearranging the same content. There's never any attempt to explain the statements that contradict reality.

I asked you for an example of NASA being caught using harnesses. This video doesn't refer to anything like it. You could send me 500 more like this one and you still wouldn't answer my question. That's why I asked you earlier to stop jumping to the next video. There's nothing to be afraid of. If you're not going to answer anything, it's just a waste of time.

Can you answer my question? When did NASA get caught using harnesses?

I have found that these videos are often dismissed. We should collect these videos onto a thread in the projects or community forum and then add it to the wiki for reference.

I thought the Society forums had a higher standard of arguments than those retarded videos. That's a path I'm not sure you want to take.

One of the most damning proofs is the fact NASA has been caught faking ISS with harnesses time and time again.

Any example of 'being caught'? Assuming you mean something else than the speculations of a random youtuber.

Flat Earth Investigations / Re: Angular Speed of Sun Slows near the Horizon
« on: November 04, 2018, 01:41:49 PM »
I don't dispute that the stars slow down and change configuration as they approach the horizon.

My point is that the Round Earth Theory appears to operate entirely on the basis of special pleading. There are many excuses for why prediction is not possible, and why this or that does not reflect a Round Earth, while simultaneously claiming that the evidence behind it is certain and mountainous.

There's no special pleading because there's no contradiction. Atmospheric refraction proves Round Earth. Let's separate the issue in two statements:

1) The Earth's rotation makes the sky rotate with a rate of 15° per hour.

2) Close to the horizon, light rays are refracted further away because they are tangent to the Earth's curvature.

Statements 1 and 2 aren't contradictory. If you think they are, you need to explain why.

The predictions resulting from 1) are verified every day.

Every time a star dips below the horizon and, according to 2), is temporarily refracted, it always reappears above the horizon after following the same rate of 15° per hour predicted by 1).

There's no need for excuses because predictions don't fail. If you have observational data failing 1), could you present it?
