Today the State Administration of Radio, Film, & Television of the People's Republic of China removed Lady Gaga from their blacklist of 3 yrs. By law, all art must be approved by the above Ministry before it is legal to sell. Lady Gaga had been obtainable only in bootleg as the Ministry had deemed her a threat to the integrity of Chinese culture. Even as it stands, some changes were made to render the cover art less explicit. My own view is that protection of culture is worth a little censorship, & Lady Gaga is an example of a good thing to censor. What do you all think? I know this could go in A & E, but its also politics, so I put it here. If a mod wants to move it, that's cool.

Why is she an example of a good thing to censor?

I think things should be age-rated. I think things should come with warnings. I don't think anything legal should be censored.
Why should a civil servant be able to watch something and decide it would influence me into doing something they don't like? As long as I stay within the law, what's the problem? Government is meant to serve the people. Not tell them how to live.

You'd think they'd love her - she's got no class whatsoever.
Oooohhhh!

Because her dress choices and songs are against the law.

This is one of those opinions that's actually just wrong.

Yes, because seeing the human body is likely to destroy a child forever. It's far better to shield children from matter of sexuality and let them figure it out on their own.

This physically pains me to type, but I agree with Thork.

But in order to stay within the law you have to define what the law is. In this case the law is "No Lady Gaga".
I don't know where you live, but chances are your country has some level of censorship.
