The "Arctic Rim" Hypothesis
« on: April 15, 2014, 02:09:42 AM »
Explain it please.

Because I'm pretty sure Antarctic isn't that big.

How can you be sure?  Have you ever measured Antarctica?

Yes.

Whoa, there, that's a pretty big claim. Which part(s) of this document have you produced, and through what means?

All of it. Through Microsoft Word and Google Images. Honestly, I'm insulted by your accusations of falsehood. I'll have you know I spent a good portion of an afternoon drafting that document for my employers. Now drink your Kool-aid like a good boy and believe what the government tells you!

But this is getting off-topic, and I'm sure none of us want that... I apologize...

I believe something about "spatial distortions" was mentioned elsewhere?

What method did you use to measure Antarctica?

A simple equation.

(x) to the (y) power, plus (z); where

(x)= a random 1-6, determined by dice,
(y)= my federally-issued yearly salary, and
(z)= the amount of sheeple to ever visit the South Pole.

Not that it matters. You're all just a figment of my imagination anyway.

You measured things with equations? I think you're confusing data analysis with the collection of data. I suspect markjo is mostly interested in the latter.

I thought my sources of information were made quite clear, but (Teehee.) I can see how my pro-state (Haha.) leanings might have wrecked... umm... (Bwahaha!) your interest in actually reading my replies, let alone responding to the OP.

Oh well. I'm still having fun.

If you have a point to make, please make it. If you want to make penis and butt jokes instead, I'll gladly move this thread to CN for you to continue.

To bring you back up to speed: You have claimed that you personally measured Antarctica. We'd like to see some evidence of that, and an explanation of the method you've used. So far, it really looks as if you Googled "how big is antarctica??/? :(" and called it measurement.

What, you're not catching on?  :-\

My point is that of course I haven't measured the coastline of Antarctica. Neither have you.  All I wanted was an actual explanation of the theory, but it seems all I'm going to get is the usual BS.

Conspiracy and direct observation you say? Yeah, well it's all subjective. Existence itself is a lie!

You guys seemed sharper than this. I'm truly disappointed.

Ah, so one explorer's findings are accepted while another's are discarded, depending on each report's convenience to the Society? Have any of you actually proved for yourselves anything on that page?

No. What explorers' findings have we discarded?

Antarctica probably isn't that big.  I've never measured it either, and one recent visitor applied a number to it that was greater than the circumference of the spherical earth, which was odd, but I suppose if you account for nooks and crannies it may be plausible.  The spatial distortion person was me, and that's because I'm of the opinion that the earth is an infinite plane in a closed loop, which is strange and difficult to render in two dimensions but solves all this pesky whining about distances and the size of antarctica.

Please post your ships logs.
What makes you think that ship's logs are in the public record?  ???
