Flat Earth General / Re: How far was it from the Sun to the Moon ?
« Last post by geckothegeek on Today at 05:28:28 PM »
When the moon wobbles down it gets below the sun, blocks the sun, (which....remember ! .... acts like a spotlight )and causes the eclipse

Then what is it that lights up Jupiter if the sun shines down like a spotlight ? .......
and also, which way does the moon travel across the US, west to east or east to west ?

Since I am just an indoctrinated, brainwashed "round earther" , I don't know the "flat earther" answers to your questiions.
Maybe Tom Bishop does.???

I would love for Tom Bishop to respond to my response to him!
Oh sweet summer child ...
We would all love it if FE'ers actually engaged in proper discussions with us. Sadly, that's not what usually happens :(

I really don't get it.  FE is akin to religion as it's based totally on faith over science.  That said, people on religious forums will debate all day long.  Of course, they too rely on dusty old books.

I have a related question about the motion of the moon in the FE model.

I understand that this diagram is a simplification to show how the Sun works and is not intended to show the movement of the moon.

In this wiki article,  https://wiki.tfes.org/The_Phases_of_the_Moon
it is explained that the Sun and moon wobble up and down to produce the moon phasing.

Additionally, the moon can't be on the opposite side from the Sun all the time, because then a solar eclipse could never happen like we saw yesterday.

Is there a more detailed explanation, diagram, or animation that shows how the moon is actually proposed to move in the FE model?

I think you know the answer to that question.  FE claims there is no real FE map, and that diagrams in the Wiki are just examples.  What I wonder is how is the Wiki the end all when people say to read it, but when you quote it you are told that it's only for examples.

As you mentioned that animation always shows the moon and sun always separated by 180 degrees and always travelling at the same speed and in the same orbital path.

Maybe this whole solar eclipse thing is just a hologram projected on the dome by NASA  ???

If the Moon and the Sun are the same size, the same distance from the earth and in the same orbit , how far was it from the Sun to the Moon ? How do you figure this ?

I'm figgern nothn ... asking the question and how is it calculated < acc to the FE
* 1000 miles or less ??

I figger it thisaway.:
When the moon wobbles down it gets below the sun, blocks the sun, (which....remember ! .... acts like a spotlight )and causes the eclipse.
Like holding a baseball in front of a flashlight.
Then the moon moves on, then wobbles back in place and the eclipse is over.
I'll leave the math and the calculations to the flat earth scientists and astronomers........or astrologers.......
Simple !

He said that alot.
I think it's his way of getting the crowd to stay on his side.  Like "OMG!  Look, they're being evil!" and if anyone checks he can say "Well, obviously they didn't because I called them out on it."  Not sure what that's called but it's some form of manipulation.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Pinhole cameras, Sunsets and FET perspective.

I'm really liking these 3DGeek, and not just because they are excellent proofs, but I'm learning more precise details about the world around me from your posts which is awesome! This for example. I knew there was something fundamentally wrong with what Tom was trying to say, but I never would have thought to lay it out like this as I didn't know about pinhole cameras. Thank you for all the work you've been putting in here and in the other threads, even if Tom's head seems tougher to break through than Wolverine's. Even if he never ever admits a thing, these threads have been very interesting and educational for me and I hope others, so thank you.
I agree 100%. Thanks for making discussions here worthwhile (and even educational) for a change and keep up the great work :)
