A drop of water isn't what I was referring to. I was referring to waters propensity to find its own level.

The water droplets show that the shape is determined by the forces acting on it. For a small drop of water, surface tension causes it to form into a small sphere. On the large scale, water is pulled towards the spherical surface of the earth due to gravity. There is no "finds its own level law" that would prevent water from naturally forming into a spherical shape.
Water is pulled toward the spherical surface towards what? The center of the Earth?

Approximately, yes.

Does most of the mass on Earth exist in the exact diametric center of it?

No. http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/Mechanics/sphshell.html#wtls
Edit: Or from wikipedia, if you prefer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shell_theorem

Quote
Is it just the perfect amount of mass to counter the centripetal force of our spinning planet to keep the water and atmosphere from flying into outer space?

No. Gravity is much stronger than centripetal acceleration. It isn't balanced at all. This is why we fall down towards the earth, and aren't thrown off.

If you're only explanation is Gravity, which is not without its detractors in main stream science, then it's not enough. It's convenient, but can not be measured, for many of the same reasons the movement of the Earth can't be measured. This is the high burden of proof I was talking about before.

You have no earthly idea what you are talking about.

The vanishing point is the place where level horizontal lines converge.

Equations please. You just said that "estimating the distance to the horizon is still possible on a flat earth". An example would be nice, with actual numbers and equations.

You could use the same equation they use now, except instead of explaining the coefficients with curvature, it could easily be attributed to the perceived rise of the ground to meet the sky due to the laws of perspective.

Please show how those equations correspond with your theory about the vanishing point. Those equations were derived directly from the geometry of a spherical earth. They are not general purpose, best-fit equations. I have derived them from scratch myself on this very forum.

The problem isn't with watching only one or two networks, it's watching them and not understanding that they are biased.

...says the person who sources their information from /r/The_Donald without double checking its veracity. lol.

I couldn't find a comprehensive list like that anywhere else.

Probably because the list was mostly false and/or misleading, as others have painstakingly pointed out.

I do know that The_Donald is a community made up entirely of Trump supporters, unfortunately, it is only one compared to hundreds dedicated to "bringing Trump down" lol

Does that make them more trustworthy?

I'm still waiting to see curved water anywhere in my life, by the way.

Estimating the distance to the horizon is still possible on a flat earth. Understanding where the vanishing point is and your approximate altitude you could easily use Pythagorean theorem to determine. On the flat earth, the ground and your height create a right triangle, even though it is perceived as an equilateral triangle.

Where is the vanishing point, exactly? Could you give an example of how to work this out?

/r/The_Donald? Lol. Well, that explains a lot. Others have already addressed the specific items on the list, so I'll address the source. Look at the list of rules for /r/The_Donald:

It's an echo chamber, by design. Never trust information from an echo chamber. If you are going to get your info from reddit, at least find a sub that allows dissenting opinions. Otherwise, you are just volunteering yourself to be brainwashed.

Every point you've tried to argue in this thread stems from your own faith and personal trust in Trump, despite the growing evidence every single day of his flagrant dishonesty, corruption, incompetence, and general lack of fitness for the job. How much longer are you going to stay loyal to him? How many more scandals will it take before you admit that he shouldn't have been elected president?

Another reason not to trust trump, from earlier today: https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/839084268991229952

"122 vicious prisoners, released by the Obama Administration from Gitmo, have returned to the battlefield. Just another terrible decision!"  -- Trump

This is factually incorrect. Most of those were released by Bush, not Obama. Once again, Trump saw something on the news, misunderstood it, didn't bother to verify it, then tweeted about it as if it were a fact.

Lol, Spicer. Poor guy is going to have a mental breakdown before this is all over.

Lol. TTIOH, you are rapidly becoming my favorite flat earther. This is gold.

I think this website would be a lot more fun if this statement was made.:
"We all know that the shape of the earth is spheroid, or globular. But this website is for ideas on how the earth would have to be if it was flat. This should be a good place to present your ideas and thoughts."

Yes, we know. You've stated this about 800 times now.

I've already answered that query. One area I looked at had a cement stairwell, but I've looked from other areas on that peninsula as well.

There are a number of different cement stairwells in the area, but most of them don't lead to a beach with a view of the Santa Cruz beach. You could have just answered yes or no. Instead, you again chose to avoid giving a straight answer.  Interesting.

Let me rephrase the question. Which beach were you on when you "lay[ed] down on the stomach at the edge of the shore... 20 inches above sea level" which allowed you to "see people at the waters edge on the adjacent beach 33 23 miles away"? Is this the beach? (Yes or no)

You're missing the point. No one KNOWS how far away the Sun is, or even what it is made of. We can theorize all that we want, and make assumptions all that we want. Here is an excerpt on methods of measuring the distance to the sun, which none of it seems very exact.

Quote

...
http://www.eso.org/public//outreach/eduoff/aol/market/collaboration/solpar/

Distance to the sun revisions by astronomers
Copernicus: 3,391,200 miles
Johannes Kepler: 12,376,800 miles
Isaac Newton: Of the Opinion the Distance is Inconsequential
Benjamin Martin: 82,000,000 miles
Thomas Dilworth: 93,726,900 miles

And so on and so on.

This is not science. This is guesswork.

Much better! This is a good start. If you are truly looking for the truth of the matter, do the following for each of the estimates you listed above:

1. Understand the exact process that they went through to obtain their estimate.
2. What is the biggest flaw in their estimate? Be specific.
3. What SHOULD they have done to get a better estimate? Be specific.

Edit: I've never heard of Martin and Dilworth, and can't find any references to how they came up with their estimates. Perhaps you should use some better sourced examples.

ffs.

What's the problem? He didn't know everything about healthcare and is admitting it.

He has been complaining about the ACA and promising a great solution for years. Is he seriously just now realizing that healthcare is complicated? It just proves that all his complaints and promises were nothing but hot air. Not that we need more proof...

So Trump wants to add $54 Billion to the defense budget.
For some reason.

I get this feeling he wants to turn America into a militaristic country.  Well... moreso than it already is...

When exactly did you expatriate again?
August 31, 2015.  Why do you ask?

Hmm... just don't know you are just now realizing that America has been a country built on it's military power for about 100 years.

*ahem*

The sun has changed position numerous times since science has begun declaring intimate knowledge of the actual distance. Each time something comes up and challenges that they just arbitrarily change the distance again. It is a giant exercise that is built upon previous assumption and confirmation that is not scientific in the least, in the sense that it is supported by replicable experimentation.

You are going to have to be more specific. They "arbitrarily change the distance" when they receive more accurate information. Earlier experiments tend to be less accurate than later experiments, because scientists tend to try to learn from earlier mistakes. You also seem to believe that they don't replicate experiments. This is false. Modern measurements can be made using a variety of different methods, all of which agree with each other. I can provide examples if you want.

Also another happy coincidence is that our moon and sun only appear the same size because "They're like, totally, completely coincidentally, like the perfect distance and size combination for eclipses to occur, cool right!?"

What does that have to do with distances? It's just as big of a coincidence whether the earth is flat or round.

Exactly. What is wrong with this explanation?

That's just too convenient, and very unscientific isn't it?

I have no idea what you mean. How is it "too convenient" and "unscientific"?

He wants a bigger military, but he also wants to be best buds with Putin. A significant portion of our military is focused on projecting power into Eastern Europe and the Middle East, which Putin hates. So where is our power going to be redirected? Oh right, Bannon expects a war with China. That should be fun for everyone.

Here, I'll make it easy for you. Is this the "small beachy area" that you are referring to, yes or no? (circled in blue)

Still waiting on an answer for this very simple yes or no question.

The point behind the picture I linked is that the beaches are easily seen on the opposite coast. It is a lighter colored line against the dark blue ocean. I never said that it was a picture of Santa Cruz. It is not carelessness or any mistake on my part. The sentence I wrote clearly says that it's an example of easily seen beaches on the opposite coast.

Lol, ok. If that's the narrative you want to maintain, have at it.

I noticed that you still won't say what specific beach you were on. I framed it as a simple yes or no question. This will be my last question.
