Flat Earth Community / What convinced you that the Earth is flat?
« on: June 01, 2017, 01:27:21 PM »
I've been looking through the evidence, and there's a lot, but I was wondering what exactly was the tipping point for you all here?

What made you certain that the Earth is not a globe, despite all we've been taught through our lives?

Was it a certain piece of evidence, if so which?

Did it begin as a curiosity from a skeptical point of view or did you always have some idea that we have been lied to?

Thanks,

Howard

So it seems there are plenty of different ideas of the shape of the earth and what surrounds it.

I've seen sources claiming it's flat or that it's a kind of bowl shape.

Some people believe in the firmament, while others disagree.

Is there an ice wall or aether surrounding the planet?

Some claim there are lands beyond the known Earth, while others think there is a defnitive edge.

What I wanna know is what are the most likely theories. Obviously a lot of them are speculative, some are based on math and observations.

But they can't all be true. So which is most likely, and why?

Long-time UFO believer, new to the Flat Earth theory; but intrigued.

 Are these two theories diometrically opposed? The existence of God does not neccesarily contradict the existence of life on other planets, but the certain parts of the Flat Earth model have me conflicted. After many night's consideration I have come up with the following questions;

1. How would vessels from outer space enter the earth's atmosphere through the firmament?

2. If there are other planets apart from Earth that are round, what would lifeforms look like from a round planet? (e.g animals from the deep ocean form differently due to the pressure from the water. Would creatures on ball planets form differently?)

3. Is it possible that another planet like Earth (flat) exists somewhere out there?

Any opinions appreciated,

Howard
