Majority of his supporters are a lot smarter than you think/have been told. They want big money out of politics and they want accountability from the government. Including but not limited to the FCC, FBI, FDA. They want to ban politicians from taking jobs as lobbyists as soon as their done their public "service."

These are a lot of the things people are voting for, not voting for their right to be toothless hillbilly's as the media has so skillfully convinced a bunch of morons to believe.  All this shit scares the fuck out of the Establishment and that's probably going to be the main reason Trump loses. Yes, Trump Supporters DO want the government to go away and stop corruption.  So why would they be happy to say "Yes, the FCC should tell businesses what to do".  You said it yourself, they want accountability to the FCC.  They do NOT like the FCC, the FBI, the FDA, etc...  They want government to stop interfering.  This includes the merger of two private companies.

It's the FTC, not the FCC.  Anyway, it's no mystery why Trump would break from his party on this issue.  He's mad that the media have been firmly opposed to his candidacy throughout the election, so if he wins, he'll use his office to punish them any way he can.  It's entirely personal.
