I respect O'Malley's politeness, even if that's the reason he's probably losing in the polls. Sanders is getting on my nerves interrupting everyone.

I'd like to hear from more community opinion before deciding to completely makeover the Council in that fashion.

I vote we wait until after reunification since that will let more constituents vote.

On another note, I don't necessarily see a need for the ZC. We didn't really accomplish a single thing here, and that's with some of the most prominent members being on the board. I know I wasn't the most attentive member myself, but neither was anyone else, really. I guess I just don't see what the council should decide on that shouldn't be decided by a community vote.

I agree with Thork. Things are going fine here, and I don't see a need to change that. We've never been as close knit of a community as this past year.

Maybe we should just admit that the ZC was a mistake and move on.

I agree.  That really seems like the best option.

In what way was it a mistake? It seems to be working fine to me. We got a member who wasn't active, so we're replacing him. Why is that such a big deal?
Because it's been 10 months and we barely have a constitution made. We are all inactive members, except maybe for you but you're taking it way more seriously than any of us. Could we have done more in that time had we been more active? Sure, but it's not like any of us really had the time to do it, and I doubt whoever else is on the council would get much done either.
And if we haven't needed a Council in 10 months really we likely don't need one at all.

Zetetic Council Board / Re: Impeachment of Roundy
« on: September 20, 2014, 10:52:43 PM »
I appreciate Roundy's contributions over the years, despite recent inactivity. I say that rather than impeachment, we promote him from Council Member to Council Adviser and give him continued access to this forum, to provide opinions and advise.

I kind of like this idea, but we'll have to make a constitutional amendment before before it can happen. Fortunately the constitution hasn't been ratified yet, so I can just add new sections at will. If Thork or Secret User agree I'll add it in immediately.

I'm thinking that it'll be a position granted at the will of the Council (regular three fifths majority)

I vote no. Considering he asked to resign I say we let him. No need to give him a voice when he's too busy to use it.

Take your curly white wig off and just hold an election. The council can't have 4 people. We'd tie for votes all the time. We have 5 so a majority verdict is reached. You have 3 votes for replacing Roundy, he hasn't bothered to defend himself. Go get us a new Councillor. :)

Agreed

If we're going to reunify what's the purpose of doing all this now?

I guess I'm not necessarily opposed, but just don't find it feasible. I agree that the society is certainly preferable without Daniel in charge, but what are the odds of that happening? It's not like he's reached out to us in any way to get us back; he has no motivation to work with us because he doesn't care if we're gone. To him, it's likely preferable.

Also, we really shouldn't go back to the old site. Even from just a technical standpoint, it sucks.

I'm always here :( Maybe 150 would be a good compromise.
