Site rating system?
« on: February 05, 2016, 05:19:12 PM »
Basically a visitors book, where they can rate the site and leave a comment.

A lot will be "you're all dumbasses" 1 star
But many will be things like "Your xmas theme doesn't work well on mobile, everything else fine" 4 stars
It would be nice to know what people think of our site as a first imperssion without having to create a log on. Not as a main part of the site, but as a kind of feed back page.

How would this be more advantageous than a thread with that topic? I'm not trying to dismiss your idea, I'm just trying to understand.

Many people don't create an account. Also a thread topic gets buried.

A rating and a comment would be easier all in one place.
Many other sites have such things.

So, you would suggest this be on the homepage?

Maybe a link saying 'rate this site' might live there. But the actual page would be somewhere discreet like T&Cs are.

By 'a lot' I suppose you mean '99% of them.'

I agree with Rushy; this would just become a target for raids.  Really, we're not interested in the opinions of the "casual visitors," or the people who just want to quickly say one thing and go.  It almost always takes time for someone to get used to this website and become a productive member of the community.  Nobody's quick, fleeting impression of us is going to be anything more constructive than "you're all dumbasses."
