Flat Earth has a history of Christian Witness, because basically, the Bible describes a motionless flat earth plane with a firmanent so yeah, this idea attracts Christians who take the Bible literally. (Like Me :) )
Anyway, there's only a couple of us (Christians) on this site and I mostly stay down below nowdays, but its the weekend and I'm bored so I'm posting in the upper fora. Welcome to the forum...

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Hey Flat Earthers, Just wondering...

One day, ill win the lotto. Then offer to pay for some FE chaps to come with me on a flight, and put an end to this nonsense :)

Why win Lotto? Prices start at $1200 dollars.

And this won't prove anything to a committed FEer because flying over a section of Antartica is simply that.
Remember, its a big big place, even on a flat earth map, obviously the route is fixed by the airline.
I personally would love to take this flight just to see it, (Antartica) it wouldn't change my view on FET.

And on a side note, I hope you do win lotto one day  ;)

These are amazing photos, but I guess its hard to take a bad picture when your in Antartica.
What's he using for glass? And don't say P900 cause I won't believe you.

Just an honest appraisal here, but I really dislike the person I become, when I set out to decide wether or not the lastest mass shooting is a random act by a lone nutter, or a false flag designed for who knows what purpose. Its just too upsetting and there's way too many of these events happening at the moment so I've switched off and ostriched the last few. (Head in the sand, na na na na na)

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Re: Illuminati?

So is the Illuminati responsible for RE acceptance?

Nah, round earth was popularised by the Greeks.

Jesuits stoked the flames along while feigning disinterest, then some of the secret societies picked it up later on, but realistically,  if you want to remove the idea of God from society, then the Globe earth model is a pretty persuasive cosmology. Give it a little push and it will steam along quite nicely thank you very much.

Why are 'Christian/Jewish' together? Both are VERY different (yes Jewish/Christians/Muslims all worship the God of Abraham however you might as well lump Muslims with the Jewish too then
Yes! I was asking this myself. It doesn't take much to know that they all believe very different texts and practice completely separate acts.

The Samaritans also worshipped the God of Abraham but Jesus stated to the woman at the well,
"You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews."

So those who depart from the gospel as received from Christ and the apostles do not know God, even though they can trace their belief back to Abraham. And this includes the Jews as well because Christ also said of them
"And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham."

Arts & Entertainment / Re: Just Watched

Black Panther.

So everyone's going ape over this movie and I get that this is a good start towards a marvel universe that celebrates rather than denigrates African culture (a big plus) but my own expectations of this thing (after reading all the glowing reviews) was so massive, that when I finally watched it I found myself tearing it apart instead of just enjoying it the way I enjoyed Ragnarok. Anyway, its an ok movie with some fun characters whom I couldn't have cared less about if they lived or died. But the best part is the civilisation itself, its so interesting, plenty of dynamics between the different tribes and an awesome empire to boot and that's where this movie really excels, IMO

SPOILERS SPOLIERS SPOLIERS SPOLIERS

I liked TLJ a lot but the whole thing seems to scream "Billy, Don't Be A Hero"
Its unusual to find so many "WTF" moments in a Star Wars film.
This is just the filmmakers being clever and setting up plot points only to reverse them.
When they were all guns blazing at Luke did anyone guess he was a hologram?
I just thought "Wow, Luke's powerful now, must be really pissed off"

So I agree, the film was great, one of the best in the series, and also one of the most stupid and implausible.
But since the last major outing was about the lead up to "help me OB1" and had every character dying on a suicide mission with no chance of a sequel, well, what can we really expect...

Love the holiday snaps Jura, my wife wants an Olympus now.
With the way the worlds heading, I'd like to have a holiday in a place like that and go MIA.
The Wildlfe Officer's can chase me round the island, it will relieve the boredom.

If he manages to do that without dying (unlikely)

Johnny nearly died first attempt (rocket blowout) and then he only managed sixty feet.

Best case scenario here is that he survives, apparently he's done it once before.
Will his parachute open automatically if he passes out on the way up?
I hope he has some contingencies organised, apart from funeral insurance.

Ahh great, I like doing these cause its all about me.

1. Who are your fave scientists / philosophers?
    Francis Bacon / Meister Eckhart

2. What are your thoughts about Christopher Columbus and Columbus Day?
Tell me your thoughts first, and I'll see if I agree

3. What needs to happen for everyone to believe in FET?
God needs to remove the strong delusion, this most likely will never happen.

The Texas church assassin methodically went down the pew rows in the church to make head shots.

And if he didn't have access to that firearm, I wonder how many people he could have killed with his slingshot.

And you're a Lutheran, thats awesome, I love Lutherans, great sense of humor :)  (Patrick and Patrick)

I'm not one myself, more like Reformed Presbyterian, and I'm used to fighting about this subject with my American Brethern on the Reformed Forums that I was a part of before. Of course once I became a Flat Earther I was unceremoniously booted from my church first and then from the forums.

Sorry guys but I'm with the athiests on this one,

Less guns = Less death

Unless of course if you live in Switzerland where it doesn't seem to make any difference.

You could always defect to one of the countries not involved in the conspiracy,

All space agencies are connected, they even have similar insignias,

 http://tampa.cbslocal.com/2014/04/02/north-korean-space-agency-copies-nasa-logo/

To be fair, if you are launching craft into a perceived orbit, then you need some communication with the other national agency's so you don't end up all crashing into each other. But if your looking for clues that they are all interconected in some way then its not too hard to find, in fact, its right in front of you.

J-Man, you appear to be the embodiment of Poe's Law,

And I was expecting something really Goth,  ::)

I'm also a member of Christian Forums so I can use that one.

And J Man, please don't go anywhere, I really enjoy your posts.  :)

As far as knifes go, there is whats called the 21 foot rule, meaning someone skilled with knives can slash you from a distance of 21 ft. if your weapon is holstered.

And we've probably all seen this mythbusters episode but I'm posting it anyway.

1. What is the definition of Flat Earth Theory?

2. How did you learn about it? Or did you come to this knowledge by your own research and reasoning?

3. How might you convince an open minded individual who does not yet believe in Flat Earth Theory?

4. Have you ever tried to teach someone but failed? Have you ever tried to teach someone and succeeded?

5. Why do you think you failed or succeeded?

6. Why do you think Flat Earth Theory is the minority belief as opposed to the assumption that the earth is round? Why isn't this being taught in schools?

7. Do you think a day will come when Flat Earth Theory does indeed become widely accepted/will be taught in schools, or do you think the mainstream belief that the earth is round will continue?

8. Would you personally be satisfied with a compromise in the classroom, with both Flat Earth and Round Earth ideas being presented to the students?

9. Has your non-mainstream worldview affected your life in a positive or negative way?

10. Are people generally open-minded towards you or do people usually react negatively to your non-mainstream ideas? Do you choose to tell other people at all? (Other than over the internet).

Ok, its my day off and I'll give this a go.

Caveat, I'm a Christian FEer and my views don't necessarily reflect all the views of the society.

1. That the earth is flat and motionless, heaven is above us and hell is beneath. There is also a firmament.
2. While researching Antartica and quite by accident I stumbled across it.
3. I would encourage them to research it for themselves, there's more than enough info out there.
4. I have never succeeded convincing anyone but I have got people looking at it.
5. This knowledge is simply too much for most people, I was already geocentric so I was half way there.
6. People (even Christians) have been blinded to truth, we are not just wrestling with flesh and blood.
7. I dont believe so, I'm Amilennial, and this darkness will continue until the return of Christ in glory.
8. Creation theory never gets a fair hearing and either will Flat Earth, (devils gotta get em young)
9. Its been negative, I have lost my church, it has placed some stress on my marriage.
10. I tell everyone, nobody seems bothered by it, they probably just think I'm nuts.

Again, I am coming from a Christian Perspective here.
This will definately not be representative of the majority of FEers on this site.
I am in the minority, but yeah, thats how I roll.

Thanks, that was kind of fun  ;)

I like lavender best, it helps me relax after a tough day in the pulpit.....

And I'm trying to get my hands on some of this stuff.
One Half of Radio comedy dou Andy, signed a "sight unseen" contract for his best mate Hamish.
Now Andys a reluctant perfume ambassador who won't agree to any advertising.

And the smart causal fragrance is pretty hard to get, I've missed it twice now.
Its the last run so I'll never get to smell this stuff, oh well, the boys had a good last radio year.

Hi Roger,

Its a nice sentiment and some of it is true, the astronauts did risk their lives at the start of the program until NASA realised that it couldn't be done, so they went to plan B for the good of the world and the American people (who have a somewhat more democratic society than the Ruskies) Meanwhile, Russia killed a lot of astronauts (because a life is cheaper in Russia thanks to communism) but they finally realised too that it wasn't going to happen so they also played along and did some fake landings to save face.

So now we have True Patriots and Hero's lying for the good of the country and this is why they won't swear on the bible because unlike yourself, some of these men do believe in God and are not 100 per cent down with this great lie they have been asked to sell. I believe Neil Armstrong was a humble man with a conscience and he found it very difficult to maintain this deception but he did it none the less.
