Now, if you get BSODs, overheating, or it won't post, that's where the skills come in.

So you're going to take your PC to Geek Squad when you have problems with it?

I believe his confusion comes from your implication that solving any of those problems requires skill.

Well obviously if does. If your computer doesn't boot, how are you going to figure out what's wrong with it.

Through standard troubleshooting/debugging processes?

Where's your SSD
In my now-defunct laptop. I'll shove it in there as soon as I receive the rest of the stuff.

It's a Samsung 840 Series 250GB thang

My PC has finally arrived today. I didn't have all that much time to play with it, but so far it's absolutely amazing.

After a short period of dicking around I remembered I have a 3DMark account with a couple of old results stored. Here's a comparison between my previous "gaming" laptop and the current SexMachine:

http://www.3dmark.com/compare/sd/2617858/sd/4223714

And some more appropriate benchmarks for the PC I got:

http://www.3dmark.com/spy/195020
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/9601205

This is with all the components running at stock settings. I'm sure I could squeeze more out of them, but I don't think that will be necessary at any point in the near future...

EDIT: I suddenly realise that I have no idea if posting 3DMark benchmarks is still the hip thing to do. I literally haven't owned a desktop for 6 years. If I'm doing it wrong and should be doing something else to show off my e-penis, please advise.

Apparently the 295x2 can still toe-to-toe with the 1080 but my CPU choked. My e-peen has been critically damaged.

I expected them to be close, but tbh I thought the 1080 would have a minor edge. I'm also noticing that my results are a little bit worse than those of other people's with near-identical gear. I suspect we may be dealing with a case of "SexWarrior did something wrong", but I probably won't have a chance to investigate in more depth until the weekend.

Looking at my benchmarks again, it looks like my mobo decided to underclock the RAM for no apparent reason. I doubt that'll make much of a difference, but it's a place to start.

If it helps, my e-peen is shriveled and dead.
My processor is like 8 years old.  My scores are horrific.  Hell, time spy crashes on test 2.
If you are going to DebOOonK an expert then you have to at least provide a source with credentials of equal or greater relevance. Even then, it merely shows that some experts disagree with each other.

Anything above 2133MHz is going to be overclocked, so you'll have to manually overclock it, or set up XMP.

Yeah, that was it. Now I'm pretty much toe to toe with identical setups.

This machine runs Overwatch very well :^)
